I was at a hostel in Georgetown, Penang: bed bugs?!?

Featured Replies

These aren't mosquito bites. They are red and itch differently.

Just sprayed the whole apartment and my rucksack.

What would you do? What does repel them?

ATM, I have about 20 bites all over my body.

Repelling is no good. You have to kill them and it isnt easy. Wash all clothes and bed linen at 60 degrees (not easy to do here as most machines are cold wash only). Spray the mattress and bed and all nooks and crannies and crevices with a product specifically for bed bugs. You might want to consider getting professionals in and moving out for a few days.

The body reacted with a delay, unlike the reaction to alien proteins through mosquitos. Wikipedia confirms the bite sequence and the possible delay of an alergic reaction.

Putting the clothes in a dryer, as 2 minutes at 50 ° C will do the job. While hoping none of the critters returned to Thailand with me!!

The itching is hell, there about 20 bites, all red...
