Warranty- for your peace of mind???

I had reason to buy an iron this week so I filled my pockets with 2k baht and ventured off to Tesco.

Very pleasantly surprised to find most of the Phillips and Tefals were under 1k baht so after an age comparing them all I chose a Philips at 690bt.

Feeling pleased with myself I decided to splash out and buy an Imarflex stainless steel kettle for 299bt.

So two reasonable appliances for under 1k bt.

What I did find a bit puzzling is why both these cheap appliances came with warranties, the iron had 2yr and the kettle 1yr.

If something did go wrong 11 months in....seriously would anyone pursue getting a fault fixed?

You would go and spend the same tiny amount again and get a different model (or have you really worked that warranty and keep replacing your product every 11 months for free)

Yes, as much cheaper than buying twice. One might also be upgraded to a superior model.

Totally agree with you, who needs warranties

Some people told me i should not buy a Benz from a grey importer because i won't have warranty. But who cares, if it stops working i just buy a new one, too much trouble having it repaired.

Every time you are asked if you want a warranty say no and put the money saved away for when something goes wrong.

I am not talking about paid warranties, these are manufacturers warranties you get regardless.

Paid ones, hell yes, keep your money in your pocket
