Muppets

You want to spend more time on the ManU thread worrying about your club in crisis than coming on here making us laugh.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2020/jan/18/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-not-right-manager-manchester-united

"Since he was given the job on a permanent basis in March, no United manager since Bamlett [1930s] – not Frank O’Farrell, not Wilf McGuinness, not even the hapless Scott Duncan – has a worse win percentage than Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s 36.67%."

No consistency with VAR again. That penalty should have been retaken

VAR can't get involved with GK encroachment Mr bj. I've no idea why not!.....source: Sky Sports

Apparently this "offence does not come under the list of incidents the video referee can review. Instead, it is left to the linesman to look at the position of the goalkeeper on penalties, with on-field officials also monitoring whether there is any encroachment into the area." (M.E.N.).

Should have been spotted and retaken; goalie was a metre off his line and the linesman was stood close enough to seen it.

Some speculation that Pep might give Ederson a shot at PKs. Why not?

When Jesus stepped up i went to get a drink from the kitchen in disgust.

Jesus, Aguero and Sterling are poor. Gundogan seems decent.

According to Pep the best penalty taker in the club is Ederson, and as he plays most games, so why the <deleted> isn't he taking them then!

"Jesus has now missed all three of the penalties he has taken for club and country this season.
His spot-kick scoring record for City since arriving three years ago is four in eight.
Across his club and international career, it is four in ten.
Of all players to have taken at least five in the PL, no-one has a worse success rate (level with Stewart Downing and El Hadji Diouf)."

Two tough victories against a very decent SheffU team; physical but organised. We struggled to get through them, especially playing 5-2-2-1 defending, 3-4-2-1 attacking.

Thought Laporte was our best defender - even after 5 months out - and showed why we've missed him. Hope he's ok; looked uncomfortable when he signalled to come off but hopefully nothing more than wobbly legs.

Nobody really shone, except Mahrez who was decent and has become our most consistent threat (I'm enjoying watching him now when he's allowed to roam). KDB was a bit off but made the goal.

What the <deleted> is wrong with Sterling? He's gone back to his Pellegrini form in the past few weeks. For me he's behind Mahrez, Jesus and Bernardo for a wide position currently.

Yeah bud. They mentioned that a few minutes after my comment. More inconsistency with the llinesman and the ref not noticing which actually backs up the reasons to keep VAR

Agree...VAR isn't the problem. It's a few stupid rules and (a lot of) stupid refs/assts that cause the mess. The rules may get changed but we're stuck with the idiots implementing them.????

As usual the ref didn't notice your constant fouling in transition, which is now rampant. If teams can move it quick enough and avoid this they give you issues.

Understandable you've lost/drawn so many games when this is your main defensive tactic when losing the ball.

Absolute b*llocks!

Both teams committed tactical fouls/fouls in transition, so why refer just to City - did you watch the game?

The reason why we've lost/drawn so many games has nothing to do with tactical fouls/fouls in transition - do you watch City at all?

I wasn't just talking about this game and yes I did watch it and yes I do watch City on occasion.

And in my opinion this how you have lost matches to the likes of Norwich, they kept the ball moving, managed to play one touch football and you could't foul them in the transition and they beat you.

Your lad Fernandinho has been an absolute master of it for 2 seasons now, and it is so blatant. At least 3 he got away with before his card today.

I'm not going to get in a long winded discussion with you about it as you are so one eyed and do not listen to anyone else's opinion when it comes to discussions of this type. It just ends up a long boring waste of time.

Absolute tosh to suggest we lost at Norwich for the reason you suggest.

We lost at Norwich because:

1. we conceded the first from a corner (our achilles heel being diddymen),

2. Stones played a stupid pass in the box to Otamendi who wasn't aware of the player coming in to rob him and score the 3rd and,

3. we struggled in front of goal to break them down.

1 and 3 have been big problems for us this season.

Just watching the game V Wolves and boy have you got a brass neck.

Gomes, Firminho and in particular Henderson committing so many tactical fouls it's untrue

Read about the Sheff U game:

That its the first game Silva ever that has been fit and available for City but didn't make the match day squad

("For the times they are a-changin'")

Rodri had the ball for the penalty but Jesus took it off him (i didn't see that i have to admit). Rodri would be a blaster not a placer i reckon.

Was Fabinho not playing then, because he likes a good tactical foul (6 yellows) ????

Saw that the other day. It just confirms what I said. Watch a re-run of last night, Henderson wasn't dirty, he was just clever and committing tactical fouls that weren't in the own right worthy of a yellow. The ref should have carded him for an accumulation though

All the top teams do it mate....from memory, SAF's boys were the Masters in their day. The fact that we/you attack so much will leave us open on the counter so 'taking one for the team' is a necessary evil on occasion. Personally, I don't have a problem with it although I can understand those that do.

Totally agree and totally my point about Bob having a brass neck
