Suvarnabhumi Visa Exempt - Change of Tactic Applied
That's surely a joke. 100% returns. Granted for retirement tiring up 800k basically all year round has an opportunity cost associated to it. In the case of extensions based on marriage the funds can be used after extension stamp issued. What did you live on for the 12 months. Surely more than 400k. To suggest that the pink card helps with back to back visa exempt entries is not correct. Opposite in fact. -

Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety
There is simply no real fundamental cultural demand for safety. If there was you would see people taking simple inexpensive measures to protect themselves, like wearing helmets or not drink drive. They get what they deserve... -

Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
Values explained, as if any financial compensation would have a positive effect on this terrible disaster. I would sue the bus owner(s), DLT staff issuing the roadworthiness, the garage which did the conversion as well as the regular maintenance (if any), the ministry as well as the minister of transport for manslaughter. You cannot even classify this as "involuntary" as every party involved knew about the risk and was purposely ignorant in applying the existing laws and regulations. Individual cross examinations at court, possibly on live TV, and that might (in capital letters again MIGHT) have an effect on future "dealings" with 54 years old busses with tens of millions of kilometres and all the side alterations to the vehicles. There are some 13,000 such busses out on the road (that's at least what I read) and this accident can happen before I've finished this comment. Will not happen, money talks and now at least I know, what Thais assume is the value of an innocent child on a school trip. In closing, fire the education minister as well as he had this splendid idea to solve the problem by prohibiting school excursions once and for good ......... while his own brother was transport minister from 2019 - 2023 😉 Your call! -

China’s Military Expansion and America’s Defense Deficiency
I would believe it more if you could have provided links to non biased, western sources. In fact, many western think tanks have simulated war games and in practicality every instance, China wins. And if you think that China is afraid of Japan, a couple of nuclear bombs should put that to rest. Fortunately for Japan though, China has a strict no first use policy. So, as stated previously, China has no desire to invade Taiwan. It would be bad for business. Majority of Taiwanese are Han Chinese, same as for China. China is not a war mongering nation, unlike the US and Japan.- 1

Anyone have or tried the mini computers ?
Got an Intel compute stick when they came out, good few years back always worked when needed, still works now fine for regular browsing, viewing movies etc lots of companies offer similar sticks great for travel with one of those handheld keyboards not sure how available the compute sticks are here though nothing wrong with mini PCs but do not expect them to be run like a normal desktop i do also have a few low end mini ITX board/CPU rigs that work fine for what they do but are slow as you would expect you can also build high end mini-PCs if DIY you can also use a raspberry Pi as a computer just fine, although limited to linux afaik -

Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
I see you have experience with the real life. My mother in law have raised 3 kids of my father in law brothers and sister, and still do, because they working in Bangkok or Korea, supporting their parents and helping out in any way possible. That's the reality of being parents in Thailand, they can not manage to be parents and work full time unless you are above the middle class, and can hire nanny's. My wife brother in law, works in government and have free housing, cleaning and nanny, so for them they are able to live with their kids. My wife was their nanny until she met me. Seems so many here have meet only the bad apples while staying in Thailand referred to the replies here.
