To summarise, it's high time we started looking after our own! Many low paid workers face ever escalating costs. and are bearing the brunt of social welfare cuts.

My point was more directed at lower paid jobs needing to be supplemented by benefits - a ridiculous situation!

But otherwise, I agree.

Then leave it at that.  Do you honestly think that the vast majority of Brits are as you portray them to be.  Most Brits are easy going, and tolerant, and not so different from your own country.  Does yours really have no faults by the way?

Sadly, perhaps, Brits want out.  It really is a question merely of how much they want out, because the desired independence is coming with a big price.  Why add your insults to a difficult situation?  Like you say- no skin off your nose!

Sorry your infantile notion of the UK has been shattered.  Do you think you can get over it?

Most Brits are easy going and fun people to talk with. I fully agree with that.

Currently the Great Britain is showing the middle finger towards Europeans (we are the EU). Do you agree with that?

I am incredibly disappointed what UK has become or perhaps what it has been all along over decades. I had no idea how much hatred there really was towards our EU and therefore Europeans.

On personal note, I don't mind being called as childish. I actually cherish it. It's one way how I try to keep my brain young and flexible to learn new ideas ????

That's the way to go! It's really time for each government to take care of their own subjects.

If a government can't take care of it's own subjects, it the failure of the given government and perhaps society as whole.

UK is prosperous country with huge amount of wealth to be shared between the people. Why does that not happen? Well, you might have to dig deeper into your own society and to those who hold the power?

EU has nothing to do with UK's internal politics. Well, it has some. EU transfers money to the UK's farmers and does things which actually benefit the common people. But who would believe that from 'bunch of unelected people'.?

Right

'UK is prosperous country with huge amount of wealth to be shared between the people. Why does that not happen? Well, you might have to dig deeper into your own society and to those who hold the power?'

Quite possibly there is still massive stored wealth, and huge funds invested in USA, and China, for example.  However, per head I think it's now only 29th in the world in terms of earnings.  This may be a distorted position in many respects, because although UK has a low wage economy it has traditionally operated a very liberal social welfare policy.

Yet it is a sad fact that most big western economies are failing.  Most public budgets are overspent year upon year. Another problem for the UK is the trade deficit, which is a particular problem with UK/EU trade. I suppose this is the UK's way of grappling with the problem.

I agree that inequality of wealth is a massive problem.  Big business, much of it foreign owned, simply won't pay its way.  It's a world problem.  That may not effect your country at present, but there will come a time.

Right
What a laugh..the eu giving back to UK farmers a small fraction of the money that the UK gives to corrupt fraudulent brussels.

They you go at it again. Where have I ever said anything about "lesser" people?

And the control thing; it's controlling people as they come in. Why are you making it sound like some sort of authoritarian state regime? Controlling people as they come in is quite a normal thing to do. Indeed it's something your country happens to do for all those millions of people outside on the EU. You don't seem concerned that they might not feel welcome to Finland, even though you don't just let them saunter through the door.

You aren't translating what I'm saying. You are making it up.

UK has constantly said lesser people by saying that the people from EU countries should have less rights than the people who were born in British grounds.

How is that not saying, you folks are lesser people than we are?

EU tries to get rid of these limitations, which our governments created.

Finland needs more work force at the moment. Don't feel afraid when you see this. It's just a typical day in Finland.De3tzRt.jpg.6063f75fe17dd1b6e30f8102e50e555a.jpg

No. It's a middle finger to the EU, not its people.  And remember 48% voted remain.

Also, Leavers really just want to be a normal country- like Australia, Canada, well any number of other countries... including Thailand even.  Why is that bad?

Would it have come to this if the EU wasn't so inflexible?

One day I would really UK to understand that the EU is made of us Europeans.

When the brexiteers say bad things about EU, they say bad things about us people, who actually like the rules EU provides as those rules also provide freedoms for all of us.

Inflexible? EU is made of rules, UK is made of rules, London is made of rules, neighbourhood is made of rules, family is made of rules. Individuals have their say whether to follow the rules of the society or not to follow them.

She wants to watch out- standing on tip toe like that she'll get an achilles problem for sure.  Why on earth post such a dumb picture?  How do you think the ladies on this forum feel about this?

This thing about sexual frustration- do you think you might be acting out just a little?

Thank you mb, I particularly laughed at the comment "It's just a typical day in Finland." ????!

What was the term Trumpetists and Brexiteers used few years back to define the people who are not so keen to bow for the real power of their wishes.. ah, it was soyboy!

I'm just displaying what the people should expect to see, when they move to Finland in droves. It's not for everyone, I guess.

Seriously and not so seriously.

Even if we are talking about serious issues and we all should be aware that whatever we talk here has absolutely no effect in real life, could we still give the benefit of doubt to others?

Not everything we say here should be taken too seriously. It's good to have silly posts and laughter every now and then. I certainly need those moments and hope, even my 'enemies' provide those.

First time I've heard of "soyboy" (and I've been reading these threads since shortly before the referendum) - what does it mean?

The second para. is more than ridiculous.....  My mother is Finnish and so I have spent many holidays in Finland - and never yet seen a model in a sauna......  Probably because nearly everyone has their own saunas.....

Soyboy means that a man is a lesser, weaker person if he supports ideas which are more socialistic than the far right members support.

Soyboy eats soy aka vegetarian food, instead of beef, like real men do.

That's the attitude of the far right.

Had you done your studies in Finland, you would have seen her likes quite many times. As we do all go naked in mix sexes saunas, we Finnish tend to learn huge self control during over the years.

How does this tie in with your earlier comment (quoted above) that it was a term used by brexiteers ?????

It's certainly the first time I've heard or read of "soyboy"!

As for the idea that the majority of Finnish women are beautiful with great bodies (as per the 'photo of a model that you posted....) ????!

It ties to the same ideology which is behind both Brexit and Trump.

Real men want a real leader like Putin is. All the rest of the men are soyboys.

As for your idea of Finnish women. The ones I dated did look that good, but then again we were young and silly. I probably had never the chance to meet your mother.

So, Sandy, are you saying that Brits will NO LONGER continue to be able to travel, work and retire in EU countries

Why would you think that I was saying that?

I thought it was quite obvious that I was saying 'that Brits will NO LONGER continue to be able to travel, work and retire in EU countries' as EU citizens.

Of course locals who have been contributing into the system all their lives will have certain rights that people who arrived yesterday might not have but that doesn't mean they are "lesser" people.

And as I say, if just the fact that Britain doesn't automatically allow every immigrant to enter the country, makes Britain deemed by you to be nasty and xenophobic, your country must also be nasty and xenophobic since outside of the EU, it also doesn't automatically allow immigrants to enter.

Maths has never been the remainers strong point has it.????????????

It was 52% v 48% in the referendum but that 52% is only 37-38% of the Electorate not 52% of the electorate.

It's not that i object to EU citizens having privileged access in particular, it's that i would object to ANY nation having totally free access to our country with any checks whatsoever. Firstly, because it is unfair to immigrants from other nations and secondly, because i don't think it's a good idea letting people in the country when you have no idea about their background at all. I appreciate you think it is worth it but then you are personally benefiting from the system so what other opinion would you have? Much like the employers in the UK who are getting cheap labour from the EU. They too think it's great.

The UK needs to monitor all labour records. If tax returns don't show that someone is at least making minimum wage, say GBP 15k per annum they should be kicked out. Problem is, we don't monitor immigrants. Most countries do. Just who's in, who's, out and who's gaol will do. Easy. Automatic.

But what you and most Remainers ignore is that almost 13 million voters couldn't be bothered to vote and you claim most would have voted to remain.

All they had to do was get off their arrrsssseeee and do it, BUT they didn't care enough to do so.

If you split the non votes in the same proportion that the Leave and Remain groups got then the Leave vote would be proportionately lager than the Remain vote.

It really does not matter which way you try to twist the result, you cannot change it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brexit#Referendum_result

United Kingdom European Union membership referendum, 2016
National result Choice Votes

%Leave the European Union 17,410,74251.89%

Remain a member of the European Union 16,141,24148.11%

Valid votes 33,551,98399.92%

Invalid or blank votes 25,3590.08%Total votes 33,577,342100.00%

Registered voters and turnout 46,500,00172.21%

Voting age population and turnout 51,356,76865.38%Source: Electoral Commission

I don't claim anything I just point out that you brexiteers claim that 52% of the electorate or the population voted leave! That is simply not true so stop saying it.
