Two days ago this little beauty outside the house was completely bereft of colour, now look at it.

The birds are oblivious to the scarecrows, much to the dogs delight, they are both eyeing up a tasty one each !!

The recent rain certainly changed the scenery ( see last post ) gotta be good for the farmers .

Somedays I wish I could eat as much as I possibly could then lay down and sleep in a muddy puddle !!

 

 

 

 

Well I am retired so what’s to stop me !!

This afternoon I came across a group of buffalo's enjoying the cool water. 

A little further down the road was a water-reservoir with lots of birds (no idea about name).

Went to do a bit of bat hunting at a local Wat ( Wat Khanom Nuea , Ayutthaya ) , as it was a cloudy day I wanted to get a sinister looking dark photo of the Wat with bats flying overhead !! They weren’t up for the challenge so this is the best I got :

A great time for a stroll around the historical city in Ayutthaya, no hordes of tourists or the accompanying tuk tuks and sellers of street food.

In fact , on a cool(ish) day like today, after yesterdays rain it is very pleasant to see the trees and lotus flourishing.

So, on a little exercise walk round our local park/lake/monument ( Thung Makham Yong , Ayutthaya ) i was disappointed not to spot any “ Hya “ monitor lizards, i usually see a couple taking advantage of the cool waters and 1 or 2 searching the undergrowth near the waters edge but today ....... nothing ........... wait a minute ......... what is that in the distance .........

 

 

 ............. could it be ......... ?

 

 

 ........ no way ..... !!

 

 

Yup !! ........ there’s one taking a stroll on top of the concrete pillars ........ ????????

 

After the exercise, sit by the waters edge and take in the serene surroundings and beautiful view.

 

This duck is also a nature lover !!

 

 

In fact, our newly found friend was of the same mind .......

Back to a local Wat ( Khanon Tai, Ayutthaya ) for some bat spotting , not sure if too hot but they are not leaving the tree for a little fly around as usual .
