Sensitive tooth

Featured Replies

I had a filling done in England just before I came on holiday but I am thinking it should have been a root canal. It was done on the NHS scheme so probably was the cheap version. Thing is it has become really sensitive and I would like to know if anyone has some advise as what to buy in a pharmacy to help relieve the sensitivity. Thanks.

Sensitivity to hot, cold, or painful all the time? Dentists are relatively inexpensive here so I suggest you go to see one. Or are you just here on holiday? I found ibuprofen worked ok when my tooth had a root problem (In the process of fixing that now).

Going to be here 4 months. Been to the dentist here in Bangkok a few times for implant and crowns                I get a faint ache pretty constantly but I suppose I can live with it for the time being without resorting to ibuprofen. I was thinking along the lines of a liquid.

they don't sell the Oragel  type stuff, here....Nasal spray is tough, too.  Does the tooth have a crack?

"Oil of cloves" will help sedate the nerve and reduce pain.

"you'll need a piece of clean tissue, or a cotton swab or cotton ball. Briefly dip the tissue or cotton in the clove oil so that it soaks up just a few drops. Gently wipe the oil over your gums at the point of pain"

Misting spray. I buy it at Boots.

I wouldn't put up with it for months, get it sorted at a dentist.

I had a toothache once, turned out there was nothing wrong with the tooth itself according to the dentist, it was some kind of gum infection, a standard course of Amoxicillin for a week sorted it out and it didn't come back.

Dental work here is so cheap, there is no reason to contemplate. The best place I can recommend (because it has been mentioned here numerous times) is Bangkok Dental Hospital. Be careful because it seems all the clinics in Bangkok copy the same name. Here is the link. http://www.dentalhospitalbangkok.com/

I have been fitted with ceramic inlays, fillings, etc. with full satisfaction. They were always honest with me, and kept cost to a minimum. Other places were trying to insist I needed full root canal and crown. I highly recommend them. They will sort you out.

I broke a tooth recently and have made a dental appointment. When it hurts I soak it with Jack Daniels.  Pain gone.
