Trouble With Microsoft Downloads

Featured Replies

MS Downloads.

Has anyone else had trouble reaching this site?

Firefox say it does not exist.

I have tried over a period of several days.

Thanks

Strange.

Thanks for the quick response.

In reality I get the Not Found message quite often from FF down here,

but a click on Try Again usually does the job, but not on this one. :o

I think I must look for different DNS settings.

TMNET dns seems to be cr*p.

I have now set up Opendns which seems to have cured the problems.

Since I switched to OpenDNS, a lot of internet flakiness I used to experience in Thailand (currently with TT&T ADSL) disappeared.

For those not familiar with OpenDNS, click on the link in astral's post above. All you need to do is put their DNS server address numbers in your TCP/IP settings, and the web site tells you how. It's free and works like a charm.

Thank you so much for the link to OpenDNS.

I have had major problems with my ADSL TOT Goldcyber connection over the past week here in Phuket, graphics would not load, could not update software, real slow speeds - 120/150 (on a 1mb), contacted TOT who gave me some other DNS numbers which did not work, this was after a visit to my house by the TOT tech guy who said my speed was slow and connection problems were due to my Router being to far from the phone point coming into the house (he was serious).

After OpenDNS speed 555/250, graphics OK, software updated and headache gone.

Thanks again.

Regards

Marc
