Getting Yellow Book for Condo in Tha Sala, Mueang Chiang Mai

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm interested in getting the yellow tabien bahn for a condo I own in Tha Sala, in Mueang Chiang Mai. It has a blank blue book, as the first Thai owner never registered their name in the blue tabien bahn for it.

Different district offices typically require different things and do things differently.

What district office would I go to?

And does anybody have experience of getting a yellow tabien bahn for a condo they own through them?

What documents etc. are required?

TIA

District is part of the address in the blue book, Mueang is a district!

Exclamation point noted.

Have you gotten a yellow house book from the district office for Mueang Chiang Mai?

No. Did it in Mae Rim 2 months ago. Easy. Office lady said difficult only for people who could not get the simple set of required documents together. I suspect they did not provide much service to the rude abusive requests but that is as it should be.

Your op says different offices have different requirements so Mae Rim requirements are not yours. Go ask at your amphur.

Ahh, okay. You're unable to remember. Never mind. Cheers. ????

Have read many topics on this subject re: different requirements at different Amphurs.

On other forums also.

My experience at Doi Saket is completely different than ones at Hang Dong for example.

Check the Amphur where you live.

We got it from Chang Phuek about 7 years ago (maybe). I don't remember the documents or forms, but I do remember needing 2 Thais to vouch for us (with a threat of jail for them - I think if we did anything wrong).

Understand that may vary from office to office but be prepared for the request of some paper work

Copy of passport, front page, visa page, extension page (front page to be translated to Thai)

copy of the condo channote or title, the one given when you purchased the unit, a long brownish paper

immigration letter confirming your address (they ask if it sounds silly but that's how it works)

2 THAI witnesses to go with you, people who know where you live and will sign stating that you are whom you claim to be and live where you claim to live (their ID will be required)

2 photos better bring the Blue book they may or may not ask to see it , most important is the tittle

fill up the application form (only in Thai language, some offices they will help some tell you to get help all depends on the brown/red envelop)

if married, need marriage certificate if foreign marriage need to translate to Thai, usually the amphue office has a list of translators, people they usually use and whom give them kick backs

this is pretty much what I had to provide, maybe they will ask for more or maybe ask for less but better be prepared and it will take 1 or days to get the book, if there is a rush and a red/brown envelop it can take 1-2 hours, it all depends, good luck

I was wrongly sent to the Amphur, when it was done at the Tesabon, however, pink was done Back at Amphur.  My passport translation was done at cmuli for 300 THB..with the stamp..

Wow - the Tessaban !!! Mine all at Amphur.

Reinforces the advice to check where you live as no one answer will do

I want to ask you....why do you want one?

I have one, it was and still is the most useless piece of paper I have, and it takes at least two visits and two days of your life.

I cant remember but maybe I thought it gave me some security hahaha

It is used in place of a certificate of residence. Very useful.

I was previously using my work permit in place of certificate of residence, but new work permits no longer have the address in.

Ok so its used in lieu of cert of res.

....which is required when? buying a car or a bike, which you can get at Immig for 500bt once every five yrs unless you like buying bikes and cars regularly.

Tbh, its not really necessary is it?

Not to mention sometimes the Vehicle office won't accept it, and you still have to buy a cert of residence.

Yellow book completely useless IMHO.

Less hassle getting a yellow book than a cert of residence. As for it not being accepted, I've never experienced that renewing driving licence and buying and selling cars and bikes at Nong Hoi, Hang Dong or Lamphun.

It is worth it for banking without a WP, but you really want to set a limit for what you will do to get one.  Simply impossible in some areas.

To use in place of Certificates of Residences when renewing car driving licenses and motorbike licenses, when purchasing cars/scooters/motorbikes, and in place of a Work Permit when banking.

Obviously that will enrage a few posters.  ????

Not to mention that with it you can get a Pink Card and all the benefits of that!
