The answer is yes you can be charged for assisting with overstay

Where we live in Florida, we have had numerous restaurant workers ask my wife for help because they have been here working on a tourist visa, which is a no-no, and overstayed for years.

We have had to steer clear of this for the simple fact that they are breaking the law and with immigration a touchy issue these days with ICE and what not.

Many we know are being paid under the table only US $5 an hour and hostage to the restaurant due to their overstay.

I presume you will be coming to USA on a visitor's visa.  If that is the case, the usual entry is 6 months.  You are not authorized to work on a visitor's visa.  There are penalties for overstaying, which include removal from the USA and also you can be incarcerated while you wait for removal to your home country.  It is a felony under federal law to help people evade US immigration law.  I have been a US immigration lawyer for over 20 years and I have seen all of the above happen to people.  This being said, there are over 15 million people illegally in the USA.  You would expect a farang to obey Thai laws.  I suggest you do the same when you come to the USA.

Before six months is over,
I am sure she will want to return to Thailand.
So six is fine.
Thank you for the input

I have more than one wife.
In some ways this is an issue.
I know my Thai wife would like to see some things.

multiple wives?  is that hard to find a thai woman willing to do this? . wouldn't Mia noi be a more fit term?

If she gets a tourist visa which i would be interested in hearing about it will be for 10 years 6 months stays. however if she was coming for her 3rd 6 month stay she may have issues at immagration when they ask how she can afford this.

True, multiple reentries within short period of time - staying 6 months in the US and then going out for short period of time and then trying to reenter the US will possibly create issues as the time of reentry.
