I avidly follow the 2 music threads and post a bit myself, but I have a problem trying to play the YouTube videos through the Connect app.

 

It seems very random but I get a lot of videos that won’t play and get this message :

 

 

For example:

6 out of the last 15 videos on the “ if you’re listening to music now “ thread gave me this message, 9 played okay. It’s been like this for me for probably a year now in which time I have updated the app ( and YouTube) and changed phones, it is exactly the same on my iPad.

 

I have a good WiFi ( 50 down, 20 up ).

 

I’ve mentioned it a couple of times on the threads but to no avail, hence this thread.

 

YouTube plays perfectly for me via its own app on my iPhone and iPad but via the Connect app the problem appears.

 

Even a video that I watched on YouTube and then posted on the thread wouldn’t play back ( for me) thru the Connect app !! How messed up is that !!

 

Anyone any ideas or having similar issues ??

I encounter the same problem with my Android phone on other forums, on various news websites and in the Thai news forum on Thaivisa. Some embedded videos play, others do not and I have no idea why this happens. 

Andrew, could you post the links to the two music threads so that somebody knowledgeable about the inner workings of video embedding may have a look at the code and see if there are differences with which web browsers may have a problem?

Now on Tapatalk, I get a different ( but similar) issue.

The top posting ( link to music video) won’t play and I get this message

 

 

Whereas the bottom post ( preview to music video ) will play okay, although only if I click on the music description and not the play arrow [emoji54]

 

 

So it would point to some embedding issues.

Now on Connect app using the same two posts as in my previous posting.

 

 

The top link to music plays and the bottom preview doesn’t and gives me this message

 

 

Pretty much opposite to Tapatalk.

 

 

BUT: the problem on Connect is very random !!

and I just checked the last 16 links to music videos ( by Tippaporn) and not one would play whereas random previews will play.

Hope these last two posts made sense .

The problem seems to be very random and quite frankly is doing my head in !!
