Hi. I'm thinking of buying a late model used car such as a 2016 Nissan March.  Being a prudent consumer, I would like to have the car inspected by a competent mechanic to look for any hidden damage such as prior flooding, collision, etc.  Does anyone know where I could find such a mechanic in the metro Bangkok area? Obviously, I know I would have to pay for such inspection, but this is "cheap" insurance against buying a used car that I might regret later.

Please, no comments on the efficacy of Nissan March, or the merits of buying new vs used. Just interested in how to find a good mechanic such as I described.  Thank you.

I just bought a s/h small car from a dealer....I spent hours talking to Mrs.Trans before hand regarding a written guarantee for engine and trans....But, I was lucky, a salesman understood English, he said they would provide a written guarantee for one year regarding engine and trans...I thought good, and they did...

Now whether it was worth anything in LOS is another thing eh...????

One thing I'm most worried about is prior flooding. The car might look fine, but then 18 months later all the electrical fails and it's rusting through the bottom. Not so uncommon in BKK as I understand.  This is why I'd really like a professional inspection.

An inspector cannot look inside box sections that maybe water damaged...Rust...Most rides rot from the inside out....

2016 is not old, if don't know much about motors then all you can get is a sort of warranty on 2nd car for a short time except on a private sale.

Get the service history from owner or Nissan and get Nissan to check over for you, it's the only thing that would make sense to me for a prudent person.

Thank you. I wasn't aware that 1 2 Car offered pre-inspected vehicles. Of course, there is the concern of "conflict of interest" is that the inspection is done by, or paid by, the seller.  I would hope for an independent inspection.

Can anyone vouch for the integrity of 1 2 Car in this matter?  Do they have a track record of honest dealings and legitimate reports?  Ultimately, this is my concern when buying a used car.  If they have a long track record of integrity in the used car market that gives me a bit more confidence.

1 2 Car is just a website. Each dealer is independent.

That being said we bought our Teana from a dealer in BKK. Found the car on the website. Never a problem. Only replaced consumables.

If your knowledge of vehicles is lacking, take someone with you who does have the know how.
