Where convert cassette video and audio tapes to DVD?

Cost should be minimal as it requires little intervention even if the transfer does only happen in real time. The trick will be finding somewhere with the (antiquated) equipment needed.

Rather than transfer to full DVD format (mpg) it would be better to transfer to mp4/avi/mkv as these files will be much smaller and can be stored on DVD disks, or other media, and played back on most modern DVD players or smart TVs. But be aware that DVDs do not last forever. In fact they may only last a few years. You would be well advised to make copies of the transferred digital files on a PC or external hard drive or other media.

Audio tapes would be best transferred to FLAC or mp3 (at 320kbs), and both types of file can be stored on USB keys or DVDs and played back on most modern devices. Again, always keep a couple of backups as no media lasts forever.
