There is just something special about being up in the mountains but I must admit it felt good to be back in my own bed last night.

That is Laos and the Mekong River down to the right.

Beautiful cold 8 km trail-run to the dam this morning.  8 degrees and I am still numb after a hot shower.

Just back from taking in the sunset at a nearby location.  Tomorrow it is off to the mountains again but a new location for us.  Bound to be cold and I hope the air is clear enough for some photos.

Trying to start off the new year right with my first run of 2020.  I usually do 7.4 km but this morning my wife encouraged me to do 9.28 km.  We enjoyed the sunrise at our halfway point, at the dam.

I don't really have a regular time to get up.  This morning when my wife got up to go run I felt good so decided to join her and I am very glad I did.

Care to share where this is exactly, looks stunning !

The road there is not for the faint of heart or the timid. We first went to the Doi Tung Gardens and then continued on the mountain roads to get to this coffee shop and restaurant.

Not for me, I feel dizzy on the third bar of a ladder; :w00t:
The ornamental patterns of the flower beds change regularly; it is really beautiful .
You should write that for ALL people over 60 so including farang, entry to certain places of Doi Thung Palace is free!

We were entertaining my nephew and his girlfriend so my wife took care of all the tickets.  She apparently asked about pricing and was told there was a 50% discount for children under a certain age, students with ID and elders with passport or ID, but she didn't have my passport on her so she just paid full price for all four of us.  We figure it is for a good cause so paid full price for the garden, residence and tree top walk.????

Thank you for the positive comment and hopefully you will find interesting things to photograph in your in your new life, at your new home.  Definitely get yourself a new motorbike here in Thailand to explore the countryside and back roads.

VF thank your for your most interesting and importantly, POSITIVE, story.

I'm planning re-locating from Australia to a rural village near Uttaradit this year and looking forward to my new life there with a loving partner.

One of my few regrets (the other is that i cannot keep my beloved motorbike) was saying goodbye to the Australian ocean and the chance to see and photograph it's inhabitants.

Your lizard and insect shots (only iPhone? really??) are inspiring. I would be proud of any of them. Inspiring.

Please keep posting!

Very bright and literally "live" photos! I really liked the scenery, especially where there is a lot of greenery!????????

Air quality is a bit of a thorny issue these days, but despite that, the garden is showing off a bit of color here and there.
