Taxi Situation in Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

I'll be travelling to Chiang Rai for the first time tomorrow.  Do they have public taxis at the airport for transportation to hotels in town?

When you come out of arrivals turn left, walk to the end of the building, go through the door and taxis can be found there. Don't go with the touts or out the main door or you will pay well over the odds.

For others searching this forum in the future.

Last weekend at the Newest (older) bus station I saw a big city bus and it said airport on the side.  Looks like a good options for some.

Indeed! Leaves from airport every 30 minutes, costs 20 baht.

I often see it go by when I'm in the cafe near the courthouse on Rattanakeat Road so I'd say that it comes out of the old bus station and goes to the airport that way.

i use grab taxi, works great. just need to download the app and you will see the predetermined price, link it with your credit card and you are good to go, but can use cash as well.
