need some help on the process for a extension of stay based on marriage from outside the country

Long story short.

 

My project in Indonesia has been cancelled and I need to return "home" . Previously I had a work permit for 12 years and all the extensions of stay that go with it.

Now I wish to stay based on marriage or retirement but marriage seems to be less expensive but might be more procedural.

 

What visa should i request at the Thai Embassy in Indonesia prior to arrival?

 

Will I still need a return ticket?

You can apply for a single entry non-o visa that would allow one 90 day entry based upon marriage to a Thai. Then apply for a one year extension based upon marriage or retirement,

No need for a return or onward ticket if you have a valid visa for entry.
