If You Were The World's Leader...

Featured Replies

Well, to quote H.L. Mencken (who would make a great world leader):

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats"

A real craftsman with the 'written word' :o

A black flag? Finally you're talking sense! :D

We, the BSB (Bedlam Supervisory Board), took well note of this thread with certain amusement.

It is a known fact that if you rule Bedlam, you rule the world.

We, the BSB, are the unchallenged leaders of Bedlam and, as stated above, also of the rest of the world. As you all know what we are doing, the question of the OP is herewith answered.

Dunno, Raro, still no application form or perk list. Might have to go with the Kid. :o

Wow, BM, have not heard from Mencken for ages. Nice one!

I have never been tempted to spit on my hands...regardless of what that Menken guy thinks.

I felt this way when Thierry Henry scored the winner for Arsenal in stoppage time against Man U ....

Free beer and bar snacks for everybody!

This is the reason my vote is going to Master Robski :D

Do you mean that when Thierry Henry scored the winner for Arsenal in stoppage time against Man U ....you were tempted to spit on your hands!!!!! I've never been tempted to do this.....could you please help me to understand what is the underlying emotional basis for the temptation to spit on ones hands?...I haven't a clue!!!

World leader and soccer in the same sentence equals Mrs Mallaprop. Not allowed.

OK, DGT. I'll stain my teeth on some reds with the installation of our Robski bear. I do love him.

Party wines: Chateau Mouton Rothschild (1971) and Chateauneuf-du-Pape (1999) and then for the grand finale, Grands Echezeaux, Domaine Romanee-Conti 1970 (only $2500.00 a bosh).

Robski has money.

You'd like to think so wouldn't you, but I don't have that much.

I say we leave the spitting for getting rid of the pistachio nutshells, raise the black flag and liberate some breweries. (and a few wine cellars) :o

Chateauneuf-du-Pape (1999)

Pleeeeeeeeze don't mention that, an all time fave that I haven't tasted for years.

OK. I can do plonk. Thaddy is getting cuckoo for the Pape, so I'd let him do the whole bottle, if he shares the hors de orvees.

You can get it in Tescos in the UK. It tastes better than the price suggests. One of my favourites too!

I'm all yours baby ... :o

I think all you who have posted in this thread, could be potential leaders.

You saw the seriousness of the title, decided to join the debate and by reply 34ish you where totally off topic talking about Chatteuneuf-Du-Pape :o:D

Exactly what our current leaders do :D

So, you weren't tempted to spit on your hands but you did want to hoist the black flag and slit throats....well I guess Mr. Menken got two out of three right in your case and that isn't soooo bad but it certainly not the thing of legends now is it. I'm wondering if ANYONE gets tempted to spit on their hands...at all....ever. Do you think that Mr. Menken could be so far off the mark that NOONE who posts here has ever had the temptation to spit on their hands?

Sometimes fer suuuuuuuuure, but where would that get me? Srangeways? Wormwood Scrubs? Broadmoor? Bedlam?

Oh! OK! I'm already here and I didn't need to spit on my hands to get here.

Black Flag? If there was an Anarchist organisation, wouldn't that defeat the whole object?

I do have lot of help...but I do have alot of work.

Personally I would decline the post and give it to someone else: Because no matter what you did it would not be right for everyone : It would make you equivalent to a light switch mmmmmmm One minute switched on and radiant in the eyes of your public then switched of and dull. Nah Happy as I am typing c.... on here :o
