Just be sure your when you get your photos they are biometric, as digitally modified photos are unacceptable, and they will not process your new pp until they receive the appropriate photos, I found out the hard way by purchasing photos at a photo shop here in pattaya, then applying for new pp in Melbourne on my annual trip back to Oz.

Where in Pattaya can you get Biometric photos taken?

  • Yes you start the process on line, which gives you a reference number, you print this and take it with you to the embassy (their new location).   Check carefully on the website what other do

  • When I renewed mine, the embassy provided a letter saying I have applied for a new passport which is for you to show to the airline if there are any problems.

  • OZ Embassy address:     I can answer some of your points:   Do they keep your old passport or cut a corner off it etc and give it back to you? This I guess nullifies your

The photos aren't biometric, normal photos are used to check face biometrics.

But there are strict editing guidelines for passport photos:

• Final image must be a true likeness  of the subject
• No retouching of photographs  permitted
• Adjust brightness/contrast only
• Moles, wrinkles, scars must not be  removed
• Must not remove red‐eye by  editing

Did my new passport last month - same deal as above - no problems!

Airline coming home to Udon Thani did not accept the cancelled passport but my drivers licence was OK.

Thai immigration took up the first THREE pages of my new passport with stamps!

I asked this question before but do you remember if you needed any more than your old passport, 3 photos and a printed copy of online application? No other ID or birth certificate required?

they actually charge an extra $130(around 3000 baht) odd to have it renewed from Thailand too, cant find anything on needing a birth certificate for a renewal either

It's a passport renewal.

Birth certificate only required when applying for your first passport.
