Nyezhov Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hey Euro dudes, if you were to want to spend part of a winter in Europe, in a place where it is warm, and it should be as cheap as Thailand, where would you go.
robblok Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Not Europe *G*.. maybe Ibiza or one of the Island closer to Africa. I always wanted to visit Reuinion island because of the sharks.
grollies Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Europe is too cold, even the Med countries If you are looking for somewhere near Europe, warm and cheap I recommend Libya. 1

West Africa? Yeah, right. You lot think Thailand is under-developed? West Africa is the armpit of the Universe. Why do you think Elon Musk wants to go to Mars?

But Lybia (Africa) is more for the adventurous. Even the Mediterranean is not really what you call warm. Or is 10 to 15 C max warm enough? And during deep winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) even snow can occur (rare but happens). Only the Canary islands (belonging to Spain west of Africa) are decent (~22 C max). Very nice but not nearly as cheap as Thailand. Can't resist: Want to pay with many many Euros and have it really warm, crystal clear water, paradise islands? French Polynesia A bit away from the mainland and honeymoon suites starting at 1000 Euro per night or so. EDIT: Canary islands: Teneriffe, Gran Canaria, Gomera, La Palma and more. Preferred places for many wealthy pensioners from Western Europe. Edited February 13, 2019 by KhunBENQ

Worked there on and off over 20 years. From Tripoli to the Tunis border are 100's of km of unspoiled beaches.

Full of English bars and cafes. Cool (as in not warm) too. BUT, cheap enough for the OP. Edited February 13, 2019 by grollies 1 1

Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are boring desert/rock islands. Teneriffe is great if you stay away from the hordes. Went to the top of the volcano (Teide), 3700 m above sea. A bit of Hawaii feeling not too far from Europe. 1

Is the only bit of rock you see between the English Channel and Freetown.
