The number one factor in global warming, bar none, is the sun. When someone figures out how to control the sun, give me a shout and I assure you that I'll be all ears.

Ice position relative to land masses has ebbed and flowed over time as surely as land masses have moved over time. When someone figures out how to control the movement of land masses and glaciers, then give me a shout and I assure you that I'll be all ears.

All the volvanic eruptions in time and yet to come have spewed and will spew vast amounts more pollution than anything man has ever done. When someone figures out how to control volcanoes, give me a shout and I assure you that I'll be all ears.

Wildfires generate roughly the same amount of pollution annually as the human population. When someone figures out how to control wildfires, give me a shout and I assure you that I'll be all ears.

It is the arrogance of men that makes some people believe that we are more powerful than these and other massive forces of nature.

It is the desire for power and control that makes some people try to use this arrogance as a means to manipulate and control other people.

The inconvenient truth is that many of us have gained a lot of weight in the last decade. My God! Look at what has happened to Al Gore, he's ballooned up and is probably suffering from many syndromes and diseases because of the weight gain. I don't know for certain if the world is getting any warmer, but I do know that gaining 20 or 30 extra kilos sure makes it seem hotter! The danger of a movie like An Inconvenient Truth is that people tend to watch it with a bowl of buttered popcorn, exacerbating the problem. Seriously, lose that spare tire and you'll find Thailand really isn't as hot as you thought!

Conservative America is starting to sound more and more like totally irrelevant dinosaurs.

Problem is, with global warming they are dragging the world down in a much greater way than ever before in history. One wonders at what stage a backlash will occur, and how serious it will be.

Using the words "tennessee" with any educational term, including "research" is the ultimate hypocrisy. I remember when I drove into Tennessee for the first time. I was riding behind a pick-up truck with a bumper sticker that said "Honk if you're a Yankee, cause I'm gonna shoot ya!".

Global warming is not a myth, it has happened many times in our planets history, this time we have just speeded it up and we are just coming to the end of the last ice-age if you didn't know. It's a continuous cycle that we can't break, but we can nudge it.

The problem with liberal thinking such as Al Gore's is that it's often celebrated amongst extremely non-liberal action such as the Academy Awards where half the audience flies in from thousands of miles away in their private jets. Not to beat a dead horse, but how much electricity was wasted trying to keep the overweight Gore comfortable in that silly outfit under those hot lights. Liberal action starts with a lean lifestyle! We save the planet, not with our vote, but with simple everyday actions. Let's not even get into Michael Moore's weight problems here...

Let the earth get warmer, it will cool your appetite (no air con, boys) in a natural way. A thinner, happier you will find it unnecessary to use your petrol-guzzling transportation machine to drive to over-indulge. You will begin again what man started to do many moons ago, you will walk under the stars and begin, not to guzzle, but to gaze! Is it getting cooler already, or is it just me?

I don't like Al Gore, but if he is somebody the white middle class of america can identify with and he gets the message accross then so be it. Call him what you want, I don't care, it was a very good documentry that showed the root causes of global warming very effectively and also pointed out some very effective measures for combatting the problems our planet faces.

Polluting by going to the bathroom, driving a car, throwing away packaging and other stuff, taking up space and oxygen, cutting down trees, building toxic factories, killing wildlife by destroying their habitats, still hating and hacking each other for differing ideologies, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

.... that it's anything but liberal (in the sense of to liberate or make free).

Gore-think is a combination of self-appointed elitist hypocyrisy combined with socialism, taxes and big government to exert control over people and restrict their freedoms of choice. The ultimate goal is power and control for sake of power and control, as opposed to liberation and freedom, for the sake of allowing people to benefit themselves, their families, friends, business colleagues and businesses that they choose to patronize.

At it's roots, it's not much different that what Stalin did in the Soviet Union, Hitler did in Germany, and the Grand Ayatollah is doing in present day Iran. It is power and control purely for the sake of power and control.

- Stalin didn't build the Berlin wall to keep the people out. Rather he built it to keep the people in and control their freedom.

- The Saudis and Iranians don't have religious police to ensure freedom of religion. Rather, they use religious police to restrict freedom of religion to only such practices as they see fit.

- The US or any other government doesn't double, triple tax peoples' money (e.g., the various gasoline taxes) because they want to benefit citizens. Rather, they do it because they want your money so they can exercise power and control over your life.

All these issues about global warming, global cooling, etc., are no different. At it's roots, it is elitist desire to control your freedom.

Interesting comment given that I don't live in the US, don't have access to satellite TV for US programs, and see probably no more than an hour of FoxTV a year. Now that I think about it, with the time I spend in airports annually, I probably see 100 times the amount of CNN than I do FoxTV.

I remember a steakhouse in Melbourne using the cow/methane angle to claim that they were saving the environment...... one cow at a time.

I'm skeptical of the global warming hysteria, believing that it's a natural cycle that we are nonetheless making worse. Let's face it, Greenland didn't get it's name because it was always snow covered. When the Vikings settled it, the climate of the south was similar to Ireland's.

However, those who deny that we are having an unhealthy effect on the planet neglect to look at the health implications of dirty air, which alone is enough reason to clean up emmissions and lower our usage of fossil fuels. One look at the summer air over Toronto, Chiang Mai, or Los Angeles makes you wonder if the smokers there aren't healtier because at least every few breaths are going through a filter.

If we deal with it as a health issue, which is less debatable than the global warming angle, then many of the concerns of those worried about climate change will be dealt with in the process.
