A peacock and its eggs were among the wildlife fatalities in a recent forest fire in Phayao's Dok Kham Tai district on Wednesday.

The burnt peacock and damaged eggs in the nest were recovered as 100 fire-battling officials inspected the Jamkai-Ban Tham forest in Tambon Ban Tham and Tambon San Khong.

District chief Thewa Panyaboon urged people not to light fires in forests as they could spread, killing wildlife animals and increasing pollution.

Really Nation?

FOUR photos and TEXT, just for one peacock in a forest fire?

Is there going to be a follow up story mourning the chicken that I had for lunch?

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Sorry, if I don't laugh, I'd be crying at what Thailand considers "Journalism".

Real life is truly weirder than fiction...

The follow up story takes a little more time because the editorial staff is still busy with counting, to figure out the exact number of ants and frogs dying in that fire.

Eggs? I'd think it was a peahen that died there. ????

There should be a follow-up story about the chickens that didn't get to finish crossing a Thai road also. Why?
