Sorry if I failed to post this in the proper forum. It is about Bangkok.

Is this fly season in Bangkok? I was here around Christmas holiday and had no problems with flies but now sitting at the same pool and walking the same various parts of the city, there are alot more of these little things landing on me.

Same hygiene habits. Same shampoos & soaps.

How long do these hatches last?

I also see alot more flowers in bloom on bushes and trees. Any connection?

Whats the best way to discourage them? Wish I had brought repellant from back home.

From around now until December or so. The good news is that they don't bite, wear sunglasses to keep them away from your eyes and keep any cuts and or abrasions clean and covered.

Those worrisome little buggers are found all over Thailand...as are mosquitoes which can carry disease.  I have a theory that the number of flies are in direct proportion to the amount of soi dog poop available.  Just go somewhere in Thailand that has no soi dogs...????

Good luck!

I call em suicide flies there all over the front of my bike and truck certain times of the day, usually worse at sun down time.
