Anyone married at an Amphur recently

Featured Replies

Cha-am. In and out in probably 15 minutes a few months ago. No complaining about papers and they took care of the witnesses.

  • The OP has been caught in this new ruling which, as correctly stated, is because of forged documents and sham marriages. All I can suggest is that you go to the local amphur where your Thai girlfriend

  • You did have the embassy free to marry paper translated and registered as Thai legal document by Thai MFA?  It only takes a phone call to confirm real.  Don't recall any other paperwork being required

  • OP, if Banglamung is finding something wrong with the documents then any other ampher would probably find the same problems. If all documents are MFA certified, that is the proof of not being a forger

Just noticed the heading to this forum is "Marriage and Divorce"  - not a lot of confidence there.

Shouldn't the forum heading be "Marriage or Divorce?

Maybe Thailand needs their own Las Vegas style buddhist storefronts, with amphor agent attending,  just to facilitate those who are in a hurry - 555

Best of luck to you both

Most marriages either end in divorce or two people that have nothing in common and just staying together for the kids or because it's convenient, so IMO marriage is the prelude to divorce, so heading correct.

To the OP, sometimes one just has to wait in LOS. Things official never went smoothly for me. If she wants to get married to you, she will do it the next time you are over.

Marriage was completed yesterday at Chatuchak district office, used an agent at a cost of 6000B. Seems that if you do have a timeline to complete things agents really help.
