I can't understand why anyone would want to pay big bucks for Cloke!

He will be 30 before next season starts and is a very iffy footballer in my book. Some days good, too many other days crap!

For a struggling club he might be worth it on a basic salary with performance bonuses.

As you said on a low salary with mucho inducements, Cloke still has a few good years in him and i think he's worth taking a risk on, Dogs you would think are just perfect for him on the other hand the name Cloke was always highly regarded at Tigerland and it would not surprise me if he did the opposite to dad, the pair could yarn on for ever over there playing days if Travis took that course.

Yes Croc i knew Balme was ex WA didn't know which club he came from, wasn't there some hmmmm dramas like knocking people out or something in is latter career..... i could be mistaking him for another rough and tough Tiger big man as Balme seemed more of your nicer type of player.

Cloke is under contract on a salary believed to be $500 000 per year.

He will have to get that regardless of who pays.

So if Collingwood don't pay some of it, I can't see it happening.

Unless Tom Boyd take a pay cut:D

Bonjour Monsieur Alex

David Cloke;  Niel Balme;

Are you assuming that tipsters from interstates would not know of these past reverend players?

You are not the only one with a few sunsets behind you.

There is a rudimentary education system (the three Rs, Reading , Righting & Rithmatic are encouraged) over here in the West and we have television too.

But, please continue to enlighten us/me with your vast store of football knowledge and witty postings.

Hope you are up for enjoying a non Melbourne based club GF.

 Go Weagles...

Well JoBlow your not as smart as you think you are, i been dropping Espanol in to my posts not French thought i did mention madam guillotine recently.

I never assume but then again way out west were the sun never sets...did i tell you i use to like  that Dingos song? it could be the kid from the premier state who grew up in Rugby heartland wouldn't be up with some of the older legends of the game, WILL mastermind never doubt him would know it all...and Croc with a higher IQ well....say no more...you well your an unknown quantity but hey you cant fall back on your IQ result when you couldn't work out top 8 ladder placings in the last home and away game....

Im happy to hear things like Television and internet has finally made it over into that vast state is it the state of excitement? we cant forget Alan Bond and Australia 2 can we? or how he helped break the back of the country by going under to the tune of well billions then turning up in London with is pockets full and involved in diamond mines in South Africa and lets not forget a one time finical backer of the Tigers...gees there getting mentioned a lot today....you see the politics of the game are more fun than the actual playing i think.

As for no Vic team in the GF, ummm your assuming a lot there no predictions from me but you would have to be daft to think the Hawks and Cats couldn't make it..

I will continue to practice my Spanish on you guys until i leave for Central America so you got another 7 weeks of it....espero qui lo disfrutes, I'm told to have a better chance with the ladies i will need to know some basic Spanish....

ps if your a good boy Jo i will send you some pics of the mulata's i will pick up so you can eat your heart out.....(a Mulata is a person who in Cuba at least a mix of Spanish, Negro and Indigenous Indian tho the Spaniards pretty much killed most of them either shooting them or giving them the simple influenza and the like.)

Thanks for defining mulata (mulatto) for us  Alex.

I've been aware of the term since reading Mandingo as a lad.

(Mandingo has nothing to do with the band you mentioned, nor the dingo that Allan Bond famously painted on the flour mill in Freo as his first job in Australia!)

Hill Street Blues......"Let's be careful out there Alex".

Some triva for you Will.

Remember Bobby Hill (Michael Warren) from that show? His son is the luckiest man on the planet!

His son, Cash Warren, is married to actress and billionaire, Jessica Alba.

When does the footy start again?

When you were running around for Subi, did you ever run into John Nykyforak from West Perth?

I remember his name, he was quite a handy player from memory. I don't know if we were ever on the same field at the same time. I was a fairly introverted character then, I barely knew the names of some of my teammates, let alone who was on the other side!  And don't forget I didn't play above reserves.

I remember an East Fremantle hulk wanting to meet me behind the grandstand for fisticuffs after the game  ,because I made him look like the fool he was on the field. These days everyone shakes hands, chats, socialises, marries into the family, makes TV appearances with, etc. with everyone the other side. Different eras.

Croc my term for Mulata is the Cuban term, have had much to do with them here one my dance instructor for close to 7 years then doing the more often than not Cuban dance clubs in Melbourne...

pl. mu·lat·tos or mu·lat·toes Often Offensive. A person of mixed white and black ancestry, especially one having one white and one black parent. [Spanish mulato, small mule, person of mixed race, mulatto, from mulo, mule, from Old Spanish, from Latin mūlus.]

Mulata - definition of Mulata by The Free Dictionary

www.thefreedictionary.com/Mulata

Cubans, I've heard from a Chilean club owner here described Cuban Spanish as something more like American hillbilly but in Spanish had a colourful tale of his vist and langue strangeness him being a native Spanish speaker....

Speaking of the Legends game, I saw this picture of Darren Jarman the other day.

I think it's fair to say he's been in a good paddock:P

Apart from a couple of instances the E J Whitten Memorial Legends game was just a bit of comedy, thats if you find watching overweight

whales flopping around on the ground at all comedic.

Barry Halls 6 gunbarrel like goals, Cornsey,s torpedo goal from the centre square and big Johnathon Brown looking like he never retired were highlights.

Watching the womens AFL exhibition match between the Dogs and Demons.  Entertaining game and the girls are quite skilled.  Some have more tatts and bigger than Dwayne / Diana Swan.  They make Paddy McCartin look like a delicate flower and haven't fallen over in pain.  It's an entertaining game and the demoms are getting done at 1/2 time by 4 goals.  Should use the league as a curtain raiser.

Melbounres  goal kicking  was very poor.

McMartins sister must have played tonight. There was one player that has had 3 concussions in 2 years, according to the commentators
