BREAKING NEWS     BREAKING NEWS....

The AFL are going into the entertaiment industry, they have a new product trailed it last weekend or so code named AFL X....no its not porn its a comedy of possible errors, 7 man a side teams playing on a soccer size pitch.....i will give it a name, Aussieoocer, i mean what else could you call it?

...

I don't mind the concept...it opens up a version of the game to a potentially huge playing audience.  U have ready made pitches across Australia, in every school and suburb, and you need a lot less players to participate.
One advantage is teams like St Kilda and Melbourne, Carlton, Brisbane and Freo could have fielded a full strength competitive team this year in a 7 a side comp

WE here at TV have done no such thing. :bah:   The name change conspiracy was started by some disgruntled member from interstate who has constantly shown abject disrespect for the history and culture of the old VFL.

John Coleman was the Don Bradman of football.   Kicked 537 goals in only 98 games, with a leap to rival Steve Hooker.   It is only fitting that the leading goal kicker each year be awarded a medal in his honour.

Aussie Rules was born and bred in Melbourne.   It is OUR game, always has been, and always will be.   Any changes to the game will be made in consultation with the good people from Victoria, and certainly without interference from that rabble in Waste Australia. :whistling:

Obey your master.

Oh Will,,, You naughty naughty boy,,   :(

The cheek of it,,, upsetting your Victorian masters,

For your penance you will sing the song below 10 times..

We are the Navy Blues
We are the Old Dark Navy Blues
We're the team that never lets you down
We're the only team old Carlton knows
With all the champions
They like to send us
We'll keep our end up
And they will know that they've been playing
Against the famous Old Dark Blues,

Glad you mentioned that brother....will begin life in LA, NFL season would have started would dearly love to see a pro game im there on a sunday so i will ask hotel reception whats my chance assuming there is a Raiders game on in town that day, 2 weeks in Mexico and praise be to allah the season will be in full swing might get lucky you know, as for Cuba the land of swinging hips they play base ball, not sure about soccer so yes if its on i will go for the experiance....when i get net as none in cuba were i will be staying i will send some pics....

Thought you kept a closer eye on the goings on of the NFL?

Here's a tip, up until this season, there hasn't been a team in LA since about the time of the OJ Simpson trial..

Another tip, if you want to see the Raiders, you better head a few hundred miles north, somewhere near Oakland last I heard and I wouldn't be holding my breath for the Raiders to be in LA anytime soon..

p.s The answer you're looking for is Rams..

And lets not forget the Norm Smith Medal that is on the nose with the brothers from the west....7 grand finals in a row for 5 wins (most of them against Collingwood) 6 flags in 10 years, played in winning premiership team...

See what happens let em in then they wanna run the show....they have AFL X now....

Im well aware the Raiders went back to Oakland about 10 years ago though i didn't realise the distance was over 300 miles from LA , San Diego is only 124 miles, the Chargers could be playing at home, LA Rams are back in town as from this year but they look like there playing the game in the UK thought one website didn't indicate that, in the end Collage Football could be the go, its big over there maybe as big or bigger, my american friend prefer collage to pro,  Bruins and Trojans play out of LA, then there is LA Galaxy and a couple of Hockey teams too, since there going into winter I'm sure i might be able to mange something....

AFL X ......Tiene allí futbolistico puplic decir, football meat pies and holden cars and even that was a ripped off version of a yank slogan for Chevrolet, nothing is scared OMG the world is caving in.....

For the West Aussies the Age have indicated a likely upset could be on the cards...being a Vic news paper they pamper us......

Called "How the Dogs can beat the Eagles and what the hell is going on with Richmond" pretty much makes it clear the Dogs have no chance.....but they claim there are valid reasons why and here they are.....

The Weather.....it may not rain much today but it has, at 18Deg it wont dry the ground out there for Kennedy wont be able to hold all them marks.....me thinks thats a very flawed reason....

Centre Square set up.......must stop Shuey, seems Brad Hardie thinks this is the key.....actually the article is written by Brad....he a joker man?

Make Matt Prides Kick.....he will find the ball no matter what the key Brad thinks is to get Matt to kick the ball he says Matt is to damaging hand balling....me thinks there is to much fresh air there.....

A battery of Pigs.....Minson out of the side that lost to the Dockers...ho i cant follow this and i have a warped mind....Campbell called off the emergency list, Brad is crazier than me....

Take Barrios and McGovern out of it....yes McGovern was very damaging of late trick is not to bomb it in, thats not the Dogs style anyway so another winner on the board...

Jake Stringer.....claims no better forward except our man Franklin suited to playing Domain Stadium.....who the hell is jake stringer?

Richmond you ask? Both the sitting board and the rebel board would like Blame as new director of football neither have approached him....the rebel board even went so far as make it  public, Neil says he hasn't spoken to anyone over there and is bemused at whats going on...

Hardwick, position of current board he is in, rebel group say they want him out but cant afford to get rid of him so they will work with him....makes sense.....if i was Hardwick id walk....either way he's working with a gun loaded to his head...Brad recommends the Tigers to send the coach on his way....

A good choice of club song.

I used to be a Blue Bagger before WC were created.

They use to have a lot of West Aussies playing for them as well

which didn't hurt.

Brad Hardie doesn't like WC. He's a Freo man and is still pissed of that his great mate

Peter Sumich didn't get the coaching role at WC.

I'll say this about Brad, Woosha wouldn't be interviewed on local radio 6pr while

Hardie was on after they had a on air spat. Says more about Hardie than Woosha I think.

Having said that, I don't mind Brad as he at least calls it as he see's it.

Hardwick is contracted for 2 years at $650 000 a year.

He ain't walking anywhere.

Are you going to take a Demons jumper No. 23 as a gift?

You could always say that you are related to attractive some lovelies.

Don’t forget that as an Australian, you cannot let the truth get in the way of a chance.

Seems there has been about 50 posts since I last came here. A few points:

Seeing as how the Vics here want to keep award naming rights using players from the old regional competition rather than the much more prestigious and relevent Australian Football League, I suggest it only fair to rotate the names from  other regional comps.

I was thinking Bernie Naylor (google, Alex) would be suitable for the goalkicking award until I realized that's the current WAFL award name. So, I decided Austin Robertson jnr would be a great pick.  Kicked over 1200 goals at an average of just under 5 a game. I was behind the goals the day he kicked 15. 11 to break the Australian record for a season. Finished with about 162 that year.  Also kicked 60 in one season with South Melbourne. He was a major player in establishing World Series Cricket.

Instead of Norm Smith I think Neil Kerley would be a great choice.

I also followed Carlton back in the day, right up until they stole Mike Fitzpatrick by swapping him for three characters they found down the pub and promised them a free trip to Perth. All were laughed (and cried) off Subi Oval when they tried them out, and they disappeared back to obscurity.

To Alex, just having a bit of fun with your much loved, but underperforming team, your use of a foreign language here and much vaunted upcoming trip. It seems you are happy to fling it, but not receive. You're not a Pom are you?

And don't listen to Grant, your Spanish will come in very useful in Kalifornia.

Yep

Not really interested in the history of the VFL. More interested in the WAFL.

Not sure about Coleman being the Bradman of goal kicking let alone football.

Peter Hudson seems to me the full forward most talked about as being the greatest.

I guess being a non-Victorian doesn't help:rolleyes:

As usual, the AFL missed a chance when they named the new player of the finals

medal after Gary Ayres.

One would of thought Andrew McLeod would've been the better choice seeing as he played his whole career in the AFL and is the only person to win consecutive Norm Smiths.

But again, not being Victorian probably didn't help.

Anyway, we move on.

Bring on the finals.

U have brought up another very good point here...one to remember when we start the rename the awards campaign.

The AFL should be renaming awards based on the history within the AFL comp...post VFL...

Brownlow, Coleman etc....these should be kept in a historic sense..for Nostalgia round or something.

Make some new awards with players who played primarily in the AFL era, or who crossed over...

Unfortunately, most Victorians are an insular lot, so can't see the big picture

The finals are underway. Thank goodness.

WB are serving it up to WCE. They are up by 13 points at 1/4 time. It should have been more. WCE only goals  have come from very poor kick ins.

Cant wait until the next quarter.
