Reading between the lines, Bucks knew he wasn't going to get extended. Said he would coach out the year if the club wanted but a decision was made to go after this week's game.

 

I doubt Collingwood will appoint a unproven coach like Sam Mitchell. They will be after a big name like Ross Lyon I think.

Good morning men from the rain soaked garden gnome state of Victoria.....Thursday night game prompts me to get  my few cents worth in.....

 

Well Corvid restrictions will be lifted tonight and wild weather is continuing as i type, 200,000 woke up without power so theres a lot of cold homes out there.

 

Port home crowed factor and more likely mild weather should be enough, then again the Cats might be thankful to be in Adelaide, the dart board game of the round......Danger is in but gees they dropped a lot of guys....considering the weather all eyes will be on the game tonight...im too depressed to have any idea who to pick so dont expect....

 

The sunny Swans well i heard it was cold in Sydney this week so its doubtful they will get a sunny friday, wild weather lashing most of the east coast of the big AU for sometime though the latest came from the west....Hawks have gone to sleep and wont wake up till preseason time with Mitchel as coach....

 

Dont fall asleep watching Freo play the Suns....over there in corvid free Perth both you could say have under achieved BUT they have half the season to resurrect themselves like JC did on easter sunday...

 

Saints @ Cazaly's god where is that? take on the Crows who let me down miserably last week.....Saints you would think have enough carrot juice in the tank, well you would think.....Well it comes down to Tex.....id like to see him flatter a few Saint defenders...ho and if Frawley's in there gone.....and no im not a vengeful person.....i dont know why Roos wanted to keep him at the Demons, he basically never shown me too much, and even he went on to play in a few GF's with the Hawks never ever has impressed me....i will say it again just to get my point across...has never never never ever impressed me...just a spoiler, thats it, and now way past his use by date.

Seems a few have forgotten Nathan played a year for Brisbane....the deal was if you dont like it up here we will trade you to the Pies, was well known that Bucks had his eyes on playing for the Pies....

though seriously ....putting the game on some suburban oval it looked shocking it took away the fact it was an AFL game....reminded me of the VFA days when id yonder over to the Cramer st oval or watch Coburg play....and they are better grounds 30 ys ago that last nights effort.

I think having Kelly, Shuey, McGovern and Sheppard might be too much for us.

Mate i had the Tigers selected.......but it was bugging me all day....i looked twice at the teams....like it was almost yelling in my ears.....

 

Hey 10 min into the last quarter i thought i had done my dash.....cursing even.....decided to disect the Eagles....not enough from Darling and Nit Nat....and of course the last 10 min of the game  the 3 talls stood up...plus Yeo.....who should be out of contract and ready to play at the G next year...Kennedy had earned his bikkies for the game....the other two talls needed a rocket....

I'm just getting over the celebrations of a draw for North,had to give the tennis away last night seeing 2 players at each end in the singles final.

Khun Will would have knocked the top of it for sure with the stirring win over the Tigers.(can't get Adam Simpsons smile in the box out of my head when Hurn took that mark in defence to set up the last chain of play)

Got to feel for Grant this week,had the gonads to pick North only to see everyone get the green tick at the end.

All in all a good week of footy.

Yes well.....Sam is out of contract and yet to sign a new deal that can be the only reason he keeps getting played dear Oz...I would have thought Bennie would have been the perrrrrrrrfect forward to play the Pies as we know there no slouch in defence, i expect he will be a late bloomer but seriously how he is keeping Brown out of the team is a mystery to me....so if your reading this Mr Goodwin play hard ball and insist the Pies since there the front runners for Sams signature for a first round pick cause thats what we paid for him....and really what 13 or 14 rounds in a scrubber 23 year old holding out on a new deal .....dont waste our season over him.....bench him, we need Ben Brown sharp as a tack now were heading into the business end of the season....

Goodwin has two aces up his sleeve with Viney and Brown.

Not a bad combo to have in a surge for a premiership.

It does come down to the bench,Sparrow seemed out of his depth in key moments and Melcham should have his spot.

Equally i thought Rantell for the Pies was involved in too many plays the 3rd quarter.

Still goes to show how far the game has progressed with team plans and players roles.

With Grundy,Adams and Howe out,maybe Buckley wasn't doing a bad job after all.

Yep, think Bucks was worth his salary, shouldn't have got involved in the politics his only slip up really, sealed his fate, like i said before Demons not good at fronting up under not normal circumstances, i had an inkling that they would bomb, well they got the bye and a good time to reset and dump the Weed, seriously if he hasn't signed by now he is unlikely too, but Goodwin is love with him, they got everyone else they were after, Oliver hyphenated guy one or two others that escape me now.

 

Pies out marked us pretty much all over the ground but especially in defence and got first use of the ball out of the pack most of the time, so i dont know why everyone thinks we a premier midfield, they led to the ball the entire time, get a few players down or beaten its all over red rover..... of course we will be found out in September men.....there now where near arrived....

My new #PositiveLingers Tshirt looks really nice in its plastic bag men, in Demon blue with white writing...the ED Langdon love affair continues, they now have coffee mugs and key chains to give away with Lingers all over them...what started out as a bit of a joke by Angus Brawshaw during preseason has picked up so much steam that the first 350 t-shirts which mine was from sold out in 30 min, the second set of 350 also sold out in 30 min, amused Ed is, there trying to cox him on to the show but Ed is holding out, most Demon players cant get an invite soon enough but Ed is creating this mystery around himself that is causing suspense and rocket like sales of merchandise....if you believe what Angus says every now and then by dropping little bits of info on the guy he will be bigger than Ben Hurr by the time he retires....

Cats play the Dogs in Catland......well the pussys appear to be hitting there stride now, and its a frigging wet cold day in Melbourne, wont be much better in pussyland tonight men...closer to the south pole, and the bass straight......i wouldnt want to be going to the game tonight......dart board game, pick at your peril....ho nothing about the yellow peril of late....that yellow mass of steel plates welded together that they called art, like the average joe wouldnt have a clue without an ounce of culture flowing throw our veins we were always going to see it as a mass of metal junk stuck in the city centre.....well they kept altering the city centre didnt they till they had to more the peril and ended up hiding it opposite to Crown on the other side of the dirty stream running through Melbourne called the Yarra and kinda tucked under a bridge a bit so them Chinese could find it and look at it in awe when they were looking for the Aquarian somewhere around there......

 

Corvid restrictions eased again, i could go for a walk this morning without a face mask on if it wasnt raining....

 

Suns up on the coast against Port who will be more than happy to not have to come to Melbourne should pretty much smash them, after watching Chile play Argentine in a Copa America game this week the Suns no longer have the worst outfit of any sporting team in the world....it now belongs to Chile, seriously who designs these things?  like i was mesmerised by the horrible looking outfit they were wearing for the first 10 min of the game, its no wonder Messi and co took them to the cleaners....

 

Ange P has been if you didnt already know announced as manager of Celtic......well you all heard from me how the Celtic fans were spitting chips when they were running second to Rangers mid season 15 points from top with 3 games in hand, coming up to play in one of the cups that they ended up winning....so thats 10 out of 10 trophies and or championships  Neil Lennon had won on the trot but hey, that wasnt enough, supporters were fuming they were second on the ladder, like there arnt any other teams playing in the Scottish premier ship hey, resigned earlier this year. Well all Aussies are proud that Ange gets a decent job in Europe but them Celtic fans are not, ho no, like they cant believe it, apparently theres been a shake up at the club so lot of old faces out and like i still cant get over it, like they have dominated there league for like the last 9 ys and the night of the long knives goes through the team, well Scott MacDonald now playing back locally had played in England and for Celtic said its a fish bowl in Glasgow he lived there but said most players and staff lived outside of the city, after a poor game Scott found both his cars had paint stripper tipped over them....so now we know why most live out of town.

 

North with 10 people at the game come up against the Lions.....put down your glasses and go do something constructive this weekend......

 

Giants should get back on track as there coming up against them hopeless Blue baggers in Sydney, totally useless Blues with good karma Teague at the helm i just dont get it how he can stay so positive....

 

Hawks should slip back to garbage this weekend should and the Bombers should get back to winning ways, should, another game i think you should find something more constructive to do than watch....

Am so glad McKAY got off at the tribunal,still get ready for a new game next year called AFL Touch football.

It is normally played indoors on indoor cricket or netball courts but to be expanded to the great outdoors.

GPS's on players will be used at future tribunal hearings with only wingmen allowed to excede speed limits.????

As for the hip and shoulder.....in light of concussion and what we now know its time to rub it out, there intent on wacking the guy going for the ball is fairly clear there Fj, like most of the time a tackle to inpeed playing on would have been suffice, if they have time to hip and shoulder they have time to lay a tackle other wise we could dress up AFL players like the NFL does, do you want that?
