korat immigration only, new rules or nationwide?
This week have visited Korat Immigration following a border bounce into Laos very late November 2024. I was planning on a 30 Extension of stay this week then after 30 days apply for a further 60 day Extension based on being married to a Thai. However on inspection of the paperwork the officer stated you will not be able to extend the visa you apply for any further - Maximum of 90 day stay in Thailand, you got 60 days when you arrived ) Is this new? Is this only in Korat or country wide? Used to be 30 day on arrival, then 1st 30 extension, then s 2ns 60 day extension for a total of 120 days.... Any thoughts...... -

Trump says he will direct Justice Department to ‘vigorously pursue the death penalty’
Gee, Mr. Trump ... might I suggest you read Condorcet (influenced by both Voltaire and Rousseau who I also recommend you read for your enlightenment). He observed centuries ago that it is the surety of being caught more than the severity of punishment that results in fewer crimes being committed. Oops, sorry, I forget your goal is money and public notoriety rather than knowledge. Hmm, does this get me on Patel's "enemy list"? -

Bitcoin or Gold?
you live in Thailand, right. I do not know if you have to report for Tax in your country of origin. But can i add a thought. there's chatter about the Thai Govt trace/taxing crypto trading profits (income or capital gains?) Same all over the capitalistic world. part of my retirement investment portfolio, is, in (don't laugh) Thai Income funds. they are low risk/high yield. The profits from trading are tax exempt, as are any other capital gains from trading stocks here (warning! not investment advice). income is taxed at 10%. (some of which is possibly recoverable). sort of off-topic - i've filed Thai tax returns for years, due to having local rental income. .
