How is life in Vietnam?

Featured Replies

Getting a bit curious how life is for expats, retirees and long stay holiday makers in Vietnam.

are u guys using this site to exchanging information amongst each other or by using a local Vietnam forum?

all experiences welcome..

Best to go and have your own experience...Vietnamese are friendly, ambitious and welcome foreigners...

I talked to  some vietnamese here who said Thailand is similar to vietnam.  But I heard girls are more and visa better

Thats funny. Both vietnam and Philippines forums may as well not exist due to the 5 posts a month made by a handful of expats. says it all really

Vietnam seems to be getting more and more attention as an alternative to Prayutland. I'm of that mind, too and am quite certain that instead of flying to Thailand when family commitments no longer keep me here. I will land in HCMC instead.

I never imagined that I'd not return to live in Thailand, but there are too many factors coming into play that are making it less appealing day by day. Perhaps if the value of the baht loses some strength and immigration/insurance requirements are confirmed and made reasonable, I may return to live there some day, but it's just not in the stars with the way things are now.
