Netizens were convinced it was a miracle when a pick-up driver survived a container truck crushing his vehicle yesterday, reported Sanook.

The accident occurred in Klong Luang district on the outer ring road (Route 9) heading towards Bang Pa-In.

Two people were taken to hospital after officials had given first aid at the scene.

Apart from claiming it was a miracle netizens commented in droves about the compensation that should go to the pick-up driver.

Sanook said a recent case of a similar event had left the victim out of pocket.

Maybe a sleeping midget, given his location when the accident occured

Wouldn't rule it out completely in the land of sleeping drivers....although this accident obviously wasn't his fault.

so who's fault is it??

I would think that ALL big truck drivers carrying containers SHOULD have to check that the container is LOCKED on the back of the arctic??

Too right , if there had been less alcohol in his drink the night before he wouldn't of nodded off.

I don't think it was the sleeping midgets fault....that the container fell on his truck.

A drunk midget doze off in his pickup when a containertruck suddenly falls down on him. Happens only in amazing Thailand

Correct. The container in the pic didn't fall off, it's still attached to the 'trailer'.

Obviously swerved to avoid something which tipped the whole rig over with the contained firmly locked to the tray. What was the pick up doing on the hard shoulder anyway? Undertaking?

If that's the case, the rig and container should've tipped to the right, not left. You can't see the truck, meaning it's on the hard shoulder.

Another classic....

"in droves" love it ????

Similar to the line in 'Sutters Mill' on the gold rush.

They came like herds of locusts.

Anyway, a lucky miracle for the driver. Hope everyone was insured, hold on, that would be miracle.

Seems to be an extraordinary number of accidents involving containers coming off trucks in Thailand.

Makes one nervous when seeing them on the road as you overtake them. Rather have them behind me than in front or beside me on the road

Well actually, this case is particularily unusual because the container DIDN'T come off the trailer. It seems for once, the container was actually locked on to the trailer with the twist locks and the whole lot went over together.
