I am on a retirement extension did my 90 day report today in Jomtien (it was empty) report back 13th August....In July i am going back to the UK for 2 weeks do i have to go back to Jomtien and report my return within 24 hours or just turn up on the 13th August??

Your 90 day report will not be due in August since you will be leaving the country before it is due. Your report will be due 90 days for the day you enter the country including that day in the count.

Jomtien does not seem to enforcing the TM30 reporting after a trip out of the country for those on long term extensions of stay,

I've always posted in my 90 day report to CW, and got the receipt back without any issues. Is there a risk of a postal application now being rejected - my next one is due in July?
In the two decades I've been here I've never been asked for, let alone even seen a TM30 form.
I do my 90 day report by mail too. I plan to include the TM30 form with my next one, and see if it's accepted.

I stay in bangkok as my husband is a thai and we have our house here. I just returned back from a short visit . I have a one year visa .So I heared from some known person that you need to report within 5 days from day of arrival to immigration.

Your "some known person" is wrong. It's within 24 hours the TM30 reporting of when you return back to Thailand but they usually accept if you report within 48-72 hours.

Can anyone explain to me why I have never (knowingly) filled one of these forms out in the 11 years of living here ??

How can anyone explain that to you? We are not you and don't know what's going on inside your brain to know what you are thinking.

As per your 90 day report, it will not be due until 90 days after your return, around October.

Reporting your address within 24 hours, ie TM 30, is different. Personally it has never been necessary for me to do this either.

(Also Jomtiem)

I've been coming and going multiple times per year in that time (work roster)

Never been quizzed at immigration when renewing visa extensions about it either...puzzled...

Well, im here for 13 years. And I was not doing this too because no IO asked me to do. But if i remember correctly they start to ask about this like 4 or 5 years for me now. Thats one of the reasons im not going any IMM offices. I have non-o go another country every 90 days and come back.

When i was working in Chonburi this happened to my house owner there. They charged her 800 baht not to inform about me. Now im in BKK, my house owner has no idea about this too. I dont care too because as i said im not using IMM anymore.

All the system in Thailand changing to we dont want you anymore here.

Well that worked out well....not. Massive queues at Swampy when i arrived back last night got me passport (stamped back in)then saw no 90 day report date anywhere....reluctantly i walked back to see the io who stamped my passport "when do i do my 90 day report?"Why you no understand he says...look 6th January...errr that,s when my retirement extension runs out....Where is the new 90 day report date?

I walk away ask another IO who is not busy....same answer only with big smile"i let you stay here till January 6th" this going nowhere and i wanna go home. I ask one more Immigration who this time says"go to your Immigration office".....Thanks.

Go to Jomtien today pretty girl on the left at Immigration wants to give me a 2 page form to fill out...Me "what for" she the points...take your form and go the change of address office speak to someone in there i don't know what you want!!!

At last someone who speaks English and wants to help rather than fob me off with unnecessary paperwork,(what that 2 page form was i have no idea) i could not see any reference numbers on it.

Lady says do you live here at this address.....yes.....okay come back in 90 days starting from yesterday.

I was not going to ask why my original 90 day report paperwork (stabled in my passport showing report date of 13th August) had not been changed.

Immigration on entry to the country have no knowledge about 90 day reporting since it is not their responsibility.

Your report is due 90 days from the day you entered the country including that day in the count.

How can you report within 24 hours if you do it by mail? Surely it will take longer than 24 hours to arrive?

The date you put on the form and the date it was mailed is checked.

Thanks Ubonjoe for being to the point..... i am so used to not having or being in control of anything to do wth my passport, and all the "crap" that is stabled clipped and pinned in it and am so fearful of removing anything in it for fear of upsetting someone somewhere.

So mailing it in is much easier than going in person if you live in a remote village. Is there a link to the form? Are any additional documents required?

I suggest you contact your local office about mailing in the TM30 form and what they require and the correct mailing address. Some office may not accept them.

Mailing a TM30 to Chaengwattana is certainly more convenient than trekking up there for the day.

What I have yet to find out, is how they deal with regular mailed in reports. My wife and child returned to Bangkok from Laos 2 weeks ago, so I dutifully filled in a new TM30 for them. If past experience is anything to go by, it will take around 3 weeks to get the receipt back. In the meantime we will be making some family trips to other provinces before the receipt is back, so I guess I just keep mailing in new reports each time we get back!

My closest office is Ubon, if anything knows about what they require it would be very much appreciated.

Which office is nearest to you. There is one in Sirindhorn (main office) and another one here in the city at Rajabhat university.

Not sure if they will accept mailed in TM30 forms.

They now are wanting one done if you leave and re-enter the country or if you stay in a hotel that submitted a report online.

You can still get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage during one your trips to here.

You can apply at the consulates in Savannakhet Laos or Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam with no financial proof.

In Penang Malaysia you would have to show 400k baht in a bank.

I drove past the Sirindorn one today because my wife was too hungry to stop. I use the Rajhabat one. Is it true that they can keep racking up the fines for multiple infringements and effectively charge you whatever they want?

They cannot charge a fine for not reporting in the past.

The max fine for an individual is 2000 baht.

You have to submit a copy of the arrival stamp. That is the date used to calculate 90 days.
You can throw the old slip away. They never take it at the airport
