hi gang, my tgf is about to apply for a visitor visa to visit me here in canada.

we tried about 4 months ago & it was a bust. but i know now that asking for 6 months for the first visit was a mistake (just asking for a month this go round).

also i am back home now working & i have an apt leased (which was another problem they had the first time we applied... i was living in LOS for 18 months so they didn't like the fact i had no job or a residence in canada).

so the gf got a job after i left in december but she just found out that her employer won't write her a letter confirming she will have a job upon returning to LOS. big kick in the nuts because i think that is something they will be looking for.

so now the gf thinks it might be better to just tell embassy that she is living in home town with her daughter & mother taking care of them. but i still think it might be a good idea to tell embassy that she is working & supporting her family. she sends money home every month which i think is a good reason to return. i am sure the question might surface that if she were to stay & work illegally in canada (which is what all the hassle getting visitor visa is about yeah?) then she could still send money home to her family regularly.

but sheesh you would think they gotta take your word at some point in time as almost anything could be argued to be questionable.

sorry for the long post but i think we have everything else lined up (finances, pix, emails, skype call logs, proof of my job & residence, cover letters, etc) but if anyone has some good advice about what the gf should tell the embassy about her working in BKK or living with family in hometown that would be most welcomed.

cheers,

naphelge

I know nothing about how to apply for a Canadian visa and even less about the Canadian immigration rules and policy.

However, the principle when applying for a visa to any country has to surely be:-

Tell the truth.

Best of luck.
