I am looking to do a stop over in Dubai on the way back from the UK with my Thai wife (not officially married) and my daughter that is Thai but has a British passport, is it easy for the wife to get a visa, also I did hear right or wrong that she will not be able to share the same hotel room as it frown upon over there

anybody been or had any issues

Your wife will need a visa, if you’re flying with Emirates you can apply via their website in the manage my booking section, it’s quite simple and my wife got her visa back in a couple of hours.
It is illegal to share a room with someone you’re not married to, however people do so regularly, my wife and I did so before we were married and nobody batted an eyelid, do check your hotel though some hotels, including the Dusit and some of the Hilton’s forbid it.
There is always a chance that you could fall foul of the Islamic Police, but it’s unlikely.

Or better yet, don't support the place is any way.

For a start, it has been build with virtual slave labour, it's governed by a**holes who have no reasonable respect for basic human rights, and it's incredibly environmentally unfriendly, going to the extremes of building huge enclosed snow skiing slopes that need to be kept frozen 24/7 in +40 degree C weather and unnaturally dredging the ocean floor to make ridiculous man-made islands, which perhaps one is actually being used. It's a representation of many things that are just plain wrong, IMO.
