Spouse and I have been in some very nicely done condos in VT 3, 5, and 7--we lived at all 3 projects. The great thing about an empty shell is it's a blank canvas to do what you want with. We loved that; many others, however, wanted a completed product. That was good, too--we finished a half dozen or more of the VT shell condos and sold them to buyers who didn't want to do the work themselves. Fun times. You're right that later projects produced finished condos from the get-go, but I don't recall very many that offered a choice of fitted-out packages, although there likely were some. I know Unixx offered a choice of flooring and, I think, accent wall colors. Most, I think, were like The Base, Centric Sea, Lumpini Park Beach, Espana, Grand Caribbean, Baan Plai Haad, etc., with generally one standard look, with maybe a few options. Pity more choice wasn't offered--about every time I click on a listing for Centric Sea, there's that very small, very blue, one-armed sofa--the first thing we got rid of when we bought our condo there. (Why did the large 2-bedroom we bought there come with the same tiny sofa as the small 1-bedrooms, I often wondered.)
