Trasfer stamp to new passport.?

Featured Replies

What stamps do you have to transfer?

If you only have a entry stamp from a visa or a short stay extension you can do it on departure from the country.

Thanks Joe -it is a retirement extension.

Just take your old and new passports to immigration. I have done this 3 or 4 times when my passport got full or ready to expire.

However, take copies to save running to the photocopier.

Complete this form. Transfer Stamps To A New Passport

Letter from you embassy confirming you new passport.

Copies of both passport photo pages. Copies of visa, entry stamp from it, most recent entry stamp, extension of stay stamp and re-entry permit it you have one. Some offices will want a copy of every page that has a visa or stamp for Thailand on it.

You also should have an embassy request letter to do the transfer to new passport.  As well as copies of old and new passports there is a short form to fill out.

What happens if you currently have 2 UK passports.

1. My first passport expires on Jan 2023 and is almost full

2. My second passport expires on June 2026 and only has 1 stamp when used in Australia. It has zero Thai stamps.

Previously I required two passports due to my work situation, but on 2016 I decided to shut the show down.

You could request your full passport be canceled at the embassy or perhaps at trendy.

After it is canceled you could have your stamps transferred.

Ya, mind they dont decide to make note in the new passport of all the previous visas u have in your old book. They like to do that sometimes.

Is there any reliable agent that could perform this for me ?

I would prefer to send what I need to an agent that I guess will be in Bangkok. I am based in Ubon and Chiang Rai, but do my 90 day reports in Ubon.

I am not sure an agent could get it done.

Perhaps contact the embassy about getting it done. They might do it by mail.

In my case? No forms, nobody looked at the Embassy letter, just old passport, new passport and Baht 500...

Hi...about to get a new passport in UK as old one nearly full.

Current passport has extension based on retirement and multi re-entry.

Two questions,

When I come back to Thailand can I just show current(soon to be cancelled)passport with relevant stamps and get stamped in on new passport ?

When I go to Immigration in Udon to transfer extension and multi re-entry into new passport do I need some letter from an embassy or UK passport office?

Thanks in advance for guidance.

You would use both passport on entry to the country. You show your re-entry permit in you old passport and they would stamp you into the country in your new passport.

Some offices will not ask for the letter from the embassy if you have used the new passport for entry.

Not sure what Udon's policy is.

If needed you can contact the UK embassy and they will mail a letter to you.

Thank you Ubonjoe et al, I am just about to do this myself and the information was most helpful.
