My wife wants to start an enterprise selling Fish. Fresh, Frozen, Dried etc, from Markets within approx 50km radius. She had a similar business some years ago which i understand was succesful. We have a box van type truck already.

my question to anyone with experience of Markets, or food selling, relates to current conditions.

is business brisk? Or dead?

are there any unseen pitfalls?

what turnover do you consider possible?

all advice received gratefully.

As usual with any type of venture here, dont spend any more than you can walk away from. There are or have been many many "great ideas" and "done it before" until the work kicks in faster than the money comes in, then they get bored very easily and are looking for the next rainbow. Proceed with caution.

Got that T shirt! I accept that if it goes tits up, i will be eating the stock for some time.

I'm really looking for input from anyone who's wife or g/f already has a Market stall or Truck based business.

Does it work for you? What turnover do you manage?

Any unforeseen problems?
