To be fair, Rees-Mogg has skin in the game.

He moved his Hedge Fund to Dublin and betting against the UK economy in Brexit.

He needs Brexit to make money on his hedge bets.

Tripe again.

  • Hamond will be on the back benches with his mate Grieve in a fortnight, maybe they should all declare their own financial interests in the seriously flawed EU   Lets have a leader ballot wit

  • Hammond could be terrified that Jacob Rees Mogg is already lined up for the Chancellor job. About time he moved up from the back benches and he’d probably do a better job of it. Sent from my iPhone

Philip Hammond is just sbout the only sane voice left in a totally dysfunctional cabinet and has remained true to his opinions,  unlike most of the rest who are too busy toadying up to Johnson in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.

He knows he'll be replaced but carries on the good fight against a no deal Brexit and the people behind it.

Hammond. Such a hero.

The evidence on this board is of Brexiteers frequently making the claim without a Remainer ever having made such an accusation anywhere in the thread.

I guess that JRM has already a few speculation plans to be activated in case of no deal Brexit.

Exactly. What JRM really meant is he could be better off. He doesn't give a rat's arse about anyone else.

They're both idiots, so there's little merit in discussing whatever they said.

Hammond, who does not intend to continue as finance minister when a new prime minister is named next week

No danger of that, thankfully, if Boris wins.

If Borris wins the post will soon be renamed Minister of Debt...

Lets have a leader ballot with only one name on the ticket - that is German French democracy right there - we have been invaded over the last 40 years - slowly the very powerful United Kingdom has been dismantled by France and Germany - how that was ever allowed is a travesty

Yes we will buy your cars - but you better build them in the UK

The nice thing about trade with the EU is it is very one sided - we buy a hell of a lot more than they buy from us.………….you want to test it - go right ahead

Farmers in the UK can start supplying the home market which we couldn't do before - our fishing ports and (soon to be) fleets can fish our own waters and keep our own fish and sell into the local market

yes it might take time but we will survive and prosper

Time for a leader in the UK that can actually say "NO" to these unelected ass holes in Brussels - they really need to figure out where they are at - the UK is having no more of it, we are leaving, you are no longer dealing with a weak embarrassing  remainer

When we leave watch how France and Germany decide to segregate themselves from the rest - google "two speed Europe" yes they will drop the rest in the s h it when the UK leaves

Our Corporation tax will drop to the same level as tiny Republic of Ireland - that is them shafted and serves them right for trying it on and disrespecting the British people - you already have the use of our UK hospitals (NHS) for free - you can come and go as you please - claim benefits - work - use our far superior facilities for free - nothing to do with the EU - it has always been that way, keep going and you might find some changes - and lets be clear, the ROI has one NHS class hospital and it is in Dublin- the rest of the country is in the dark ages and it is not free - oh yes the NHS to Irish citizens  is free - go figure...…………...

Well that’s the turnips sorted.

But you need to find out who owns the fishing rights before you promise where the fish will go.

As for fishing, the UK will control it's own waters. If EU fisherman want to fish there, that can be negotiated if they offer us something in return.

He hardly destroyed him. O'Brien got many things wrong during the interview and when Rees Mogg began to point out his mistakes O'Brien cut him off and spoke over the top of him as he always does when presented with facts.

O'Brien is the worst type of Remainer. Condescending, rude, patronizing and very often wrong.

I suppose you really mean a typical type of remainer then? ????

Come the next GE I hope to see Hammond unemployed.

The UK is only 60% self sufficient in food. We have to import 40%. The NFU has warned that stocks will run out in about 8 months if we cannot import food easily (there are many issues if you swap your source - e.g. tariffs, pesticide residues, phytosanitary standards, quality) Also some farmers do export - mainly to the EU - particularly sheepmeat, which would have high tariffs going to the EU. We could of course institute rationing, might solve the obesity problem.

The other issue who will work the British farms. 99% of seasonal work is done by migrants. Already some farmers are seeing crops rot in the fields because not enough workers to pick them. Guess we could ask India and Pakistan to help ......

All very rabble rousing, but we need actual solutions, not speeches.
