In a country with 67 million inhabitans there should be at least a 100.000 candidates, who promise less, lie less and with a lot more brains than this lier, who is interested in one thing only; Boris for PM.

But how many of those 100,000 candidates are members of the Tory party and how many of them are MPs? That is the qualification used for selecting the leader of the party.

That is what Teresa May should have been doing from day 1, however nanny knows best, which is why the UK, EU and Brexit are where they are now.

She wanted the job, got the job and screwed it up very badly.

So.. what she could have achieved better ? Remind: THIS deal its the maximum the EU wanted to go. Even Usrsula von der Leyen still has to convince all 27 leaders of EU member states to allow an extention of Brexit 31 Oct.

if not… The British are warned enough..

There was a lovely Boris anecdote in this week's Spectator. When he was at the Foreign Office he remarked to assembly of foreign diplomats, "We have invaded, defeated or conquered most of your countries but you are here as friends". Just fabulous. Apparently some of them were not amused

Also here Boris showed total lack of skills, knowledge and passion. Good luck, British, with such an idioit as PM

Why these did not try to be elected in last General Election ? Why they are not an MP now ? Why at present, so few really protest against the catastrophy already unfolding for 3 years ?

Remind, in Netherlands, the PVV - the only in favour for a NEXIT - lost all 4 seats and is now at ZERO seats in the Eur. parliamant.  In the UK: Brexit Now 30,5% but 29 out of the 71 seats = 41%; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_European_Parliament_election_in_the_United_Kingdom

The diference in election responsability between the British and the Dutch voters ?

Sorry, but YOU, the British, voted for this situation. Even for the Eur parliament, approx. 40% for Brexiteers.

And for A Brexit ( which conditions, which consequences all those did not give a damn) a landslide, overwhelming majority of 51,88 %. Only a mare, totally neglectable 48,11% were against, but who cares about that. Even 30 % were not interested to vote.

And the Tory government "promised" that we would leave the EU on 29th March, postponed until 31 October.

They LIED.

You can only become an MP if there is a general election, there are constituencies with vacant seats, if the party select you (though you can stand as an Independent) and at the election you win the majority of votes cast.

The last general election that was held was in the headless chicken mode by Teresa May and she and the Tories are only there because the DUP party in Northern Ireland is supporting them.

BTW I like your posts though I don't always agree with them. Thanks.

Remember that film Idiocracy ... on the way when you see childish nonsense like this. Just wait until there is a big war and these snowflakes suddenly can't compute it due to their hubris. We have recently seen an incredible time of peace without major wars ... but it is increasingly becoming more unstable all the time, for whatever reason, and trouble is coming at some point. Only the dead have seen the end of war and many countries of all hues are becoming increasingly belligerent for many reasons. Does not bode well imo.

I was watching a news report about James Goddard after he left court the other day.  Sad, pathetic, racist, homophobic moron and of course a leading Brexit activist.  However I know plenty of Brexiteers who are good decent people who are appalled by Goddard and his vile chums.

It is a pity when people label others without knowing them at all. Brexiteers come in all shapes and sizes and so do remainers.  I prefer to judge people individually rather than lumping them into one box or another.  But then everyone in different so who am I to judge.

We need more James Goddards. Never heard of him before but I like the cut of his jib. Another enemy of the state.

A Boris blimp. Seriously? What a childish demonstration. I thought Remainers were supposed to be the mature, intelligent, rational, reasonable side. They increasingly look like a bunch of spoiled kids throwing the toys out of the pram because they lost.

I have no idea if he has a plan or not.

The Brexit result depends on about 650 MPs who are fearful that many of them will lose their jobs at the next general election.

IMHO they will be mostly Tory but Labour will also lose.

I think that is a fair question but unfortunately we, the people, have no say in what the alternatives could be.  We are being led by fools and charlatans and they will continue to screw up our country for their ambitions.  None of us voted for May to be PM and none of us have voted for the buffoon Johnson to take over.  A small number of Conservative members make that choice while sipping their gin and tonics and waffling on about the problem of all those Johnny Foreigners being allowed into their local golf club.

We, the British public, are simply having to sit on our hands and do nothing.  It is not just the remainers or the Brexiteers, it is all of us and apparently, in the name of democracy.

Yet you don’t complain when all the Non Brits on these threads criticism the decisions of the Brits. As in when we voted by a majority of 1,400.000 to leave the E.U.
