Think Twice

Featured Replies

Recently,  I decided to look into a side job to earn a little bit of extra money.
I ran my own business for years and finally thought it might be time to look into an online job opportunity (that wasn't as demanding and time consuming.)

I got some information about doing online surveys and I thought I'd check into them.
Here's what I found out.

Prior to partaking in the surveys I was asked to fill out a barrage of data including the following:  My age age, my race, my interests, whether I had a vehicle, how many vehicles I had, my approximate income.  My email address, how many pets I had, what kind of pets they were, whether or not I used online shopping, what kind of products I bought online. My health insurance arrangements, what ailments I have. The list goes on and on.

I got to thinking about the whole thing. I mean the "real" survey.

They're doing a survey on you. Under the auspices that you'll be doing surveys for them. It seems pretty underhanded so I elected not continue or submit my information.

They're doing a survey on you. Once they know that information they're going to sell and use it.
Think twice.

It could even be worse.

I remember long time ago in a country far away I got a phone call pretending to be from a popular local radio station. They asked about my stereo system and other things.

Later the radio station made it clear that they didn't have anything to do with this.

It seems the people who made the "survey" used that information to find out who has expensive equipment and then the professional burglars took over.
