If i enter Thailand with single-entry 3-month Non-Imm O visa, how and where can i replace this 3-month single entry with 1-year multiple-entry visa? Preferably North of Thailand. Other than bank saving THB 400.000 that has been sleeping for 2 months at Thai Bank account, copy of marriage certificate, copy of spouse ID with signature, child birth certificates, photo ID 4", copy of my passport and departure card, are there any other requirements needed?

Must i do "self-online" report? Is this necessary to extend visa? Let's say the self-online report is down or unaccessible, can i report to the nearest local immigration office?

Thank you

You can apply for the 12 month extension at the Immigration office that serves the area you will be living at.

Letter from bank showing balance.

Updated bank book showing same balance.

Kor Ror 2 certificate from amphur as proof you are still married.

Your Wife will have to go with you to immigration and fill in a few forms.

You will maybe need a local witness to verify that you live together.

Photos of you and Wife in and around the house.

two copies of everything.

hand drawn map showing the way to your house.

Probably TM30 form from your Wife or landlord showing that you are staying in their house.

Add to above additional paperwork and 3,800 baht fee if you want a multi re-entry permit (extensions do not allow exit/returns).

If you only want a multi entry non immigrant O visa you apply at a Thai Consulate outside Thailand and at Savannakhet and HCMC no financials are required.  Multi entry visa allows 90 day stays during the year it is valid - extensions of stay allow up to a one year stay.

Thank you very much.

Just to be sure, we are talking about 3-month non-imm type O visa being renewed/replaced with 12-month non-imm type O visa somewhere in my nearest local immigration (Nan Province to be exact, or i can drive to ChiangRai office if needed) without the need to go down to ChaengWattana Bangkok, right?

Because somehow Thai Counsular in Bali told me that 3-month non-immi type O can not be renewed/replaced with 12-month. At most i could extend it for 60 days at ChaengWattana/Phuket/ChiangMai only (cant be done in other immigration offices) and/or 30-day via border. I wasnt sure if he knew what he was suggesting me, hence i asked for opinion from expats here.

Thank you for additional information. Just to clarify, this 12-month non-imm type O, is it not multiple-entry visa by default? or do i need to apply for multi-entry before exit/enter else i might be risking to forfeit my 12-month of stay?

and multi-entry visa allows 90 day stays and at most i could extend is 60 days at ChaengWattana/Phuket/ChiangMai or 30 day via land border. --> this is what Thai counsular in Bali informed me when i had phoned him before posting this. Of course i did not take his word as it is and opted for opinion of experts here.

We are talking about a 12 month extension of stay based on having a Thai Wife.

1,900 baht fee.

You have to apply at the office that serves the area in which you live.

There is not a choice.

There is also a choice of a 60 day extension if you prefer.

A multi entry non immigrant O visa is issued outside Thailand.

It allows 90 day stays.  Only a 60 day extension to visit wife or a one year with financials in Thailand available on each entry.  Most people just exit and return.

A one year extension would not allow travel - for that you would need a re-entry permit to keep current stay alive obtained prior to exit.

Okay, thank you. either multi entry non imm O 90 days or 1-year, must i do self-report online while stay in Thailand?

3,800 baht would be for a multi re-entry permit - the extension of stay (or any length) is 1,900 baht.  A multi entry non immigrant O visa from a Consulate would be about 5,000 baht.  Extensions will require wife and paperwork and some of that may require payment also.

If you stay longer than 90 days without a new extension you must report address to immigration.  Person housing you must report your presence with another form.

Before you get totally confused.

A. Multi entry Non O based on marriage can only be got outside of Thiland. 5k

You leave country every 90 days or get a 60 day extension from your immigration office 1900bht (wife needs to be with you) then leave country and get another 90 days

Some consulates will not require proof of funds some will.

Details of required documents are noted many times in other threads.

B. Extension of stay based on marriage can be done at YOUR local Immigration office. For a fee of 1.9k bht. Details of needed funds and invasive pictures are noted already in thread.

You need to do a 90 day report if your going to be  in country longer than 90days (no charge just hassle)

Add 3800 for a multi re entry permit.

And a smaller amount (not known by me) for a single re entry permit.
