All citizens of Greenland are subject to personal taxation on the basis of full or limited tax liability. The government tax rate is up to 44%, depending on the municipality of taxation. There are some tax deductions in Greenland.

A more likely scenario is Trump’s team leaking a ridiculous story, letting it run them denying it came from them.

Set up the media with a fake story then shout ‘fake media’ so when what is coming down the pike can also be labeled fake.

Got a link? ????????????

Take case of Alaska? They bought Alaska from Russia in 1867 for a bit more then 7 million $ and it was very good deal for US.

However it was officially called "Folly"(Sewards Folly) that time.Russians came with that initiative.

With the help of imported brains. Btw. Morally not so powerful.

And yet, you don't see a whole lot of them "imported brains" heading for Denmark.

It's fine denigrating the USA, especially with the current President being what he is. Letting this narrative overcome fact, less so.

This is robably a  genuine interest by the US as laughable as it seems. Part of the scramble to  establish  rights to continental shelf resources.

Hawaii is not simply a  small territorial naval base  anymore!

Oh dear, surely not even POTUS could seriously believe that the people would prefer the USA to Denmark.

They have a stable economy, understand social justice, have world class health care  and education.

What drugs does the POTUS indulge in when his thumbs stop moving?

You may well be completely wrong.Has anybody actually asked the 60,000 Greenlanders most of whom are descended from the Inuit people of North America? There is a strong independence movement and not that much affection for Denmark or its culture.Add to that a sky high suicide rate and a massive alcohol problem.Acquisition by America would result in a great increase in living standards and a closer attention/greater resources than Denmark is able to bring.

The purchase of great land masses by the US isn't historically unusual - Louisiana, Florida, Alaska etc.

It may not be the right thing to do but it's certainly not the absurd proposal you suggest.

The reason, in large part, is likely that Greenland is rich in natural resources, including iron ore, lead, zinc, diamonds, gold, rare-earth elements, uranium and oil, according to the Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public-policy organization in Washington, D.C.
