  • Never and I am cautious about running a green light here

  • It seems you have not been in Bangkok for a very long time - police light control is seldom done these days and those that are have indicating countdown timers - longest I have noted is about 3 minute

  • I try very hard to avoid going through red lights period, that said, the amber lights here sometimes blink and you're caught with your pants down pretty quickly, either deciding within a split second

Absolutely, NEVER!  But then again, I have a brain and a will to live!

Yes for turning left on red, and I'm sure some times its one of those junctions where you're not supposed to go left on red, but if I stop I'll get beeped, then following Thai traditional I'll have to shoot the offending driver.

If I run a red light and look in the mirror see four cars coming behind me I know I am in Thailand.

Jumping a red light, for me, a Cardriver: never ever! But is typical for Motobiker.

Did you get the cops name?

He asked.

The reply began with 'F' and ended with 'UCKOFF'.

Once in Udon , 400b , I don’t do it anymore, it was still a lil yellow , But...

Have one light on the Udon Thani ring road which is a problem in the mornings I am on the minor road and want to go straight across at the ring road. Unfortunately you only get 30 seconds in every 240 second cycle. Should be enough, but with the hoard of motorbikes filling up every gap, and the number of people turning left and right but in the wrong lane, means sometimes only 5 or 6 cars get through. It is pretty maddening when you are only 20 metres from the lights but you will not make it! The main issue though is that due to the motorbikes it takes over 10 seconds to get across, so if you go through on green at 3 seconds it will have been red a long time before you clear the junction.

Now I just 'go Thai' and use the wrong lane, much faster! Fortunately no cameras and no cops …...

Thailand must, by far, have the longest red lights in the world, by the way if one goes

for a driver's license test don't say "amber" or you could fail, you must say 'yellow"!

I nearly had an argument about it.
