Thammasat to bring world’s brightest minds together to brainstorm on creative economy

Yes. The Gov't should renact a page of their glorious history where the king a hundred years ago brought in a Frenchman to help run the Kingdom. Oh how modern times have changed to less productive ways.

What is the point, whenever a Foreigner comes up with a good idea, Thais shoot it down as they already know how to do things the Thai way.

Will he be inviting Trump.? He has now announced he has “great and unmatched” wisdom, so I guess The Wizard of Oz (POTUS)needs to be invited

Didn't take long for you to bring a person who has no connection, into this article. Was President Trump mentioned? Your irrelevant post paints a chaotic thought pattern and twisted agenda.

Thammasat University and Singapore Management University are the only two Southeast Asia-based institutions chosen.

Not a good matchup.

From QS Global World Ranking 2019:

https://www.topuniversities.com/universities

  • Singapore Management University - ranking #477; Research output High
  • Thammasat University - ranking #601-650; Research output Medium

No he was not, but they want to bring the best minds with ideas and since he has promoted himself as "great and unmatched wisdom” they can invite him since he has already accepted and invitation.

Great idea.

How will they identify the creative ideas?

Are all these greatest minds from Thailand or really from worldwide?

If they are from worldwide will they need invitations and work permits?

This idea is creative in itself. That's enough creativeness to start with so don't push it please. Any more might require intelligent action from someone in government and that's a big ask.

Will they be allowed to question why they not allowed to question important areas that are begging for change?

They will reject the world's greatest minds of course and the Thai version will carry on as usual, but for how long? I have noticed a sharp rise in prices compared to the Government figures so inflation seems to growing, exports are down the bhat is rising things don't look good and TAT cannot help them out here. I wonder how long it will be before some of the current large exporters up sticks and find places were labor costs are less? Once they have gone they will not come back the golden goose will be well and truly cooked.

This is Thai Airways on a national scale and someone needs to form a solution, hope and luck spring to mind.

Past history shows if a good idea comes from the west, Thais won't consider it.

As a result, there's little to gain here.

The will take ideas already adopted from the west by other Asian countries, such as Singapore, or even China, mess the ideas up a little or alot, place the word "Thai" one or more times in the idea and implement the now flawed idea in a haphazard way.

Just like Thais generally think Swensons ice cream was invented in Thailand. Similar ridiculous stories like that abound here.
