So the U.S. elected an autocrat -- what to expect next from a Hungarian perspective
It seems that your below average intelligence has placed you in a dystopian funk. My next question to you is what are you planning to do about it? -

Need Help With Lease Problem
30k is painful rich or poor. But whether you get the deposit back or not is independent of their shenanigans. Maybe they're even playing you together? There are legal methods of reclaiming the deposit as long as you have the paperwork, and that doesn't depend on you living there any more. Or maybe just write it off. That way you only get angry once and don't have to pay lawyers. The way I've always seen it with rentals in Thailand (and I've had several long term leases) is that once I've paid the deposit it's no longer part of my current financial considerations. I don't hold it as some kind of 'collateral' or 'savings' against my future bank account. It's gone - paid. I paid 20k last year. I've actually never had a problem getting a deposit back yet. But although losing 20k would have saddened me and made me angry, it wouldn't actually have had an effect on anything else I was doing. I could have come up with a deposit again if I'd had to. Like they say: don't ever invest anything in Thailand you can't simply walk away from. That's real freedom here. Don't dance to their tune remains my take on this. Not worth the bother. -

Should have gone through the red ‘Declare’ lane and asked if it’s ok to bring a packet of Mama noodles in. Less suspicious. -

Teacher and Student Killed, One Injured in Motorcycle Collision with Van
A crash claimed the lives of a teacher and a student, leaving another seriously injured, after their motorcycle, carrying three collided with a passenger van. The incident occurred on the evening of 23 November on the Kaset Wisai–Phayakkhaphum Phisai road, near a three-way junction in Moo 14, Kaset Wisai Subdistrict, Roi Et Province. At the scene, police officers led by Pol. Lt. Col. Sriprai Boonklang, Deputy Inspector of Kaset Wisai Police Station, found a white Toyota Alphard van burned in a roadside canal. Four individuals inside the van managed to escape just before the fire engulfed the vehicle. On the opposite side of the road, a blue Honda Wave 110 motorcycle was found badly damaged, with significant impact marks on its right side. Two people who had been riding on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene: a male teacher from a local school and a 12-year-old male student. Another passenger, a 17-year-old vocational student sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Roi Et Hospital. According to investigations, the teacher had taken his two students to a sports competition at a local stadium. After the event, they were returning home on the motorcycle. As they approached the intersection, the teacher attempted to cross the road. At the same time, the oncoming van, unable to stop in time, collided with the motorcycle. The impact caused all three motorcycle passengers to be thrown onto the road, resulting in the fatalities and injuries. The van veered off the road into a canal. The driver and three passengers managed to escape the vehicle before it caught fire. Authorities are investigating the incident further to determine the precise cause and circumstances of the crash. How to make friends ... on forums like this (parts 1-2-3 of 9)
Personally i think it's better to meet people in the real world then you have time to assess them after hours, days weeks, but that is difficult to do if you are just sitting in bars hoping to get talking, personally i avoid those types, often full of predictable BS, no PMs please, thankyou- 1
