They said that fatalities at the scene of accidents on Monday claimed the lives of 21 people. They caution that these are just those that die at the scene - in reality when hospital deaths and all regions report their stats the figures are much higher. It is thought that between 24,000 and 26,000 die annually on the Thai roads, notes Thaivisa. So far in October 554 have died at the scene of accidents. The total for the year nationwide is 11,462. Popular Post seajae Posted October 15, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) they simply refuse to recognize that if the made the police enforce the current road rules this figure would drop, they also need to purchase cars instead if pick ups(bet someone is making a fortune in kick backs on that one) so that they can patrol the roads instead of sitting in the offices. Road bikes would also be a good idea but again this would be too much to expect from any thai govt or the police force. A high percentage of Thais are either unskilled, on low incomes or unemployed. This means that generation after generation suffer from from their parents and they in turn are poorly educated. If a large number of top people (high government officials, top big influential businessmen and families ) died in accidents it would make the government want to do something about the situation.
