i live in spain and would like to bring my boyfriend here for a time

i have been told it is possible to get an eu shengen visa in thailand

i want to bring him to spain but the plane lands in germany and have to change planes for spain although it will be booked through to spain as one booking

does anyone know if we should apply to spanish embassy or german as first country in eu to land in

also does anyone know what documentation is needed in thailand to get the visa and how long a shengen visa is valid

Assuming your boyfriend is Thai and is resident in Thialand he should apply at the embassy in Thailand of the country where he will spend most of his time. So he should apply at the Spanish embassy. If he is just in transit in Germany he wont need to show a visa there anyway.

Yes, application to be made with the Spanish embass, as Spain is the main destination. However, he will have to clear immigration in Germany and than transfer to the intra-Schengen-flight for Spain. There will be no further immigration - check when arriving in Spain.
