Eye check up

Featured Replies

Just recently I have been having trouble focusing, for instance I will be driving and if I glance down to check my speed, clock etc it takes several seconds to focus on the gauge as well as my computer keyboard whereas last week I had no problem with this.    Can anyone recommend  a doctor/optomologist  at either Rutnin or Bumrugrad and approximate what they would charge for this service.    I am 75 and up until now no vision problems except for reading glasses.    Thanks for any suggestions.

Suspect doctor charge/hospital fees would be less than 2k at either place (probably less at Rutnin) there is no way to guess on what tests or medications or treatment costs would be.  If medications required most can be bought at outside locations much cheaper.  Have you had an eye exam recently?  At 75 there can be issues so rather important to get an exam done and as said without extra tests that should not be too costly.

I currently use Dr. Khanchai Juangphaich at Vejthani Hospital and find him to have very reasonable charge (800 baht) with total visit exam and hospital charge of 1,350 baht including slit lamp exam - in my experience he does what is required in a plain talk way and does not try to increase costs (he is Senior Advisor at Army Phramongkutklao Hospital).

I’ve been a patient of Dr Hathairat at Rutnin for 11 years and I find her to be very thorough and strongly recommend her. Dr Chaiwat is also very good and many of my friends are happy with him. I think at Rutnin they will try to assess your issues and assign you to a specific Dr that is a specialist in that particular field. Many quality eye Drs there and a first class facility. I think a full checkup is about 2000 thb
