Mercedes servicing question on Samui

If you live on Samui and have a Mercedes vehicle, where do you take it for servicing or repair?

 

No dealers on the island that I am aware of.

 

Do you trust a general garage or take it to the mainland?

Never service my benz outside official dealer.

 

Whatever the cheap charlies will tell you, official Benz is always better because they know their job and their computer tells them what to do. *Inflammatory remark edited out*

I have been to a few of the so called best garages on Samui and I would not recommend them. I took my VW which had a knock in the suspension upon acceleration, and their suggestion to remedy the noise was to step by step replace the suspension components with new parts until the sound goes away. Said thanks and walked away.

 

I went to a shop in Surat that specialises in Euros and they fixed it in a matter of minutes for free.

 

There is a guy on Samui called David Lloyd who trained and used to work for BMW, he knows his stuff for sure and does great quality work. He is recommend frequently on the Samui Facebook groups.
