Well before the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle, there was one Hollywood star who commanded such unparalleled attention and gossip that she could be considered well ahead of her time.

 

And Elizabeth Taylor, wife to seven different men and three-time Academy Award-winning actress of Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf and Cleopatra fame, took on a totally different role later in life that was also extremely notable: tireless humanitarian and advocate for those afflicted with HIV and AIDS.

 

Now, another Oscar-winner has been cast to portray Liz in a new film that will document her activism around awareness and prevention of the disease at a time when many in the public sphere still kept a marked distance from it.

 

Rachel Weisz, 49, will be portraying the late movie star in the upcoming biopic A Special Relationship, Variety reports.
