The plug has been pulled and they're disappearing down the hole already. Heidi Allen who was elected as a Conservative on a manifesto to Leave and then changed parties to join Remainiacs Change UK and then the Lib Dems (without a by-election) has resigned and is now playing the victim and complaining that everyone has been so "nasty" to her.

Who'd have thought people would be upset by such a betrayal of their vote. Poor Heidi.

Snowflake MP's... they just can't hack it.

If these perpetual underachievers and seekers of fake adulation would spend less time reading and worrying about the puerile dross that the intellectually challenged social media keyboard warriors ejaculate all over their twit and farcebook pages, pulled their heads out of their asses and actually dealt in stark reality, their life and ours would be a lot easier.

You could always argue that if the Conservatives win a clear majority with Brexit on their manifesto, then they will have the mandate/will of the people to follow through on the 2016 referendum. That's democracy.

Totally missed the point. What leave? That was the job of an elected parliament, a group of people who were voted in to office AFTER the referendum result ... the "people" tasked them with the job ... and the people clearly did not vote for a "no deal" parliament.

The people voted with their hearts as they always do and with the information available.

Attempts to portray people who voted to leave as elderly, uneducated, Northern, unskilled, racist, bigoted have fallen flat on their face with huge numbers of successful international and domestic business people, Ex Bank of England governor, Ex Cabinet ministers,  coming out in favour of Leave.

It is a REASONABLE ASSUMPTION and it is expected of Parliament to uphold the wishes of the voting public regardless of their own views.

We have large numbers of MP's totally disregarding the LEAVE vote in their own constituencies. They have adopted a ;policy of ' they know better than the voting public '

We all at that time fully expected the elected MP's to carry out the wishes of the Referendum.

There was nothing about a ' deal; ' mentioned in the Referendum vote, in which I participated. It was a simple in or out, remain or Leave.

LEAVE WON! END OF.

DON'T TRY TO SPIN IT INTO A THOUSAND COMPLICATED CHOICES LIKE THE REMAIN CAMP HAS DONE ALL ALONG WITH EVERY FILTHY TRICK IN THE BOOK TO FRUSTRATE AND IGNORE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

The duty of Parliament was to deliver Brexit. I hope all those who have gone against their constituents are deselected.

There is only one point......deliver what the British public voted for.

If the MP's were not in favour of carrying out what the people voted for, they should have made that clear before they put themselves forward as candidates.

If so, the UK should have honored that vote and left shortly after.

Time and a lot of information have moved on. It is now 2019, in fact nearly 2020. Let all the new young voters have a say.

Why dont we vote every 3 years just in case people want to keep changing their minds?

Agreed,

Let's do it every six months instead as there are bound to be young voters coming of age to vote.

Shows how desperate and daft some of their arguments are.

I have never seen in my life such a sorry bunch of disgraceful losers as the remain camp.

A GE is the least effective way of sorting Brexit out. Might as well toss a coin.

I fear that virtual tossed  coin shall keep almost undecided standing on his side …..

I go on facts and provide links to prove them. And you?

I've looked at the links you have provided from the London Economic, cant see any proof anywhere that Mogg is profiteering directly from Brexit. Just that he is investing in emerging markets (as millions of others are no doubt)  and there is speculation these may benefit from Brexit.

With regards to the London Economic, its generally supportive of Corbyn/Labour and staunchly remain, a little biased prehaps? The old saying is you should not believe everything you read in the papers ????

Good, the people finally get to choose a new parliament.

Prediction, Labour are going to get what it deserves and thats decimated from all sides and rightly so, it stands for everything and nothing.

Should rename this GE The Purge because theres going to be lots of political Turkeys going spare this Xmas thats for sure.

PS Labour are also nearly broke, its membership is down 57k,  "the peoples vote" fell apart at the weekend with in bickering, a sacking and refusal to leave and to top it all Tom Watson was going around this week doing interviews stabbing Corbyn happily in the back lol

Oh yes and Labours amendment attempt for 16 year olds  and EU members residing in the UK to vote just fell flat on its face... this how desperate Labour has become, sad but true

Mid winter Election too cold to go out and vote .

Christmas offers in the shops , not have the time to vote .

Apathy rules in the UK ,  why bother to vote ..

Another low turn out expected ..

Losses to the SNP? Last time around, the 'Popular Movement for the Liberation of Scotland' LOST 21 seats, notably dumping former First Pontificater Minister Salmond out on his Westminster butt along with Angus Robertson, their House Leader, while the Conservatives gained 12 seats. Even the hapless Scottish Labour somehow grabbed 6 seats.

Lib Dems?... mehhh

And yet the SNP still ended up with more seats than every other party combined. I very much like the latest predictions for Scotland post GE, however I will not get my hopes up for a Tory-free Scotland just yet; I have been disappointed before. But what a beautiful thing that would be to wake up to on 13th December - a very welcome early Christmas present.

Aye, but there's not too many that see a loss as a win. Like DJT claiming the US troop pullout from Syria as some sort of glorious victory?

Awfy blue lookin' doon sooth, eh?

But what about those orange weirdos north of Conon Bridge? I would watch them like a hawk, they could be Norwegian separatists.

Of course, if it produces the "wrong result" no doubt it will be claimed that it was " only advisory"...

And based on what laws exactly would that be possible?

3 hours ago, Enoon said:

A specific "quality" of a GE is that it is the only time at which the public are not advisors and are, quite determinedly, participants.

All this time and yet so many have taken no opportunity to familiarise themselves with UK Constitution, Convention, Precedent/Law.

Pure ignorance.

2 hours ago, Baerboxer said:

No it won't be claimed that - but it will be repeated in a few years.

Unlike referendums, which can only be advisory under the UK constitution law, and do require a specific Act to enable them.

False equivalence. It's the liar conniving politicians who promised to abide by the referendum result because they expected a different result; and then lied again to try and win an election, that's the issue.

An election won't change that. They'll still be liars.

Irony filter settings...

Exactly. And their attempts at legitimizing another referendum? "How can more votes be less Democratic?".

Laughable.

Sorry, but you've omitted Plaid Cymru....

While Boris' Tories are no doubt the favourites, Nigel's Brexit Party could have an impact.  Will all those Labour/Leave northern strongholds really vote Tory just to get their beloved Brexit?  Much easier to vote for Nigel.

The Remain vote is horribly split, but tactical voting could make a difference, if some Lib Dems are prepared to hold their nose and vote Labour.

If the U.K. (In accordance with the E.U.) vociferate, in a couple of months, that it is now out of the E.U.,

(but in reality isn't);

would the man in the street evidently perceive it?

For the older, as myself, Belgians I know,  we all assume we are part of the E.U., as we have been told so, and continuous remembered.

However none of us perceive any concrete difference from before the E.U. existed and now.

Labour MP Jon Trickett has just concluded the first car-crash party election interview of the campaign on GMB. Susanna Reid & Co couldn't quite believe their ears...

I'll upload it later ????

Of course you will now take the normal Brexit fundamentalist course of action and dismiss this as project fear.

At least throw one of your slogans in there. Brexit means Brexit or do or die or something like that just to add a little something to the debate ????

Keep up the good work Nigel .......

@Nigel_Farage

If the PM wants to fight a general election on defending a new EU treaty, that is very disappointing for all Leavers. His new agreement is just not Brexit.
