Does anyone have any idea how much USD they normally have available?

 

Do they need advance notice to get USD if you want to change 1.5M baht for example?

you won't have a problem changing your money, only thing I would advise - ask them how much they can do max without notice on any day and if you need to do in smaller chunks then do that, I would be very nervous arranging a particular day to do such a transaction in cash for obvious reasons

TT Exchange https://www.facebook.com/ttexchange is one of the most extensive branch operations in Pattaya but for that amount I would contact them and ask for a special rate. 

 

I don't know but there may be an issue with $50k US worth especially if you are planning to fly out with it........

There are of course many many TT kiosks in Pattaya and Jomtien, and I have been told they will try to accommodate by calling around and getting cash in one place for you.

Correction, you probably will need to make an arrangement with them, B800,000 is the most they will change according to their website but that may just be there for official government regulations reasons.

There is a lesser known money changer, mainly dealing with companies and tour groups, as well as individuals almost directly opposite Soi Diamond upper end, few meters South opposite. It looks like an old antique shop and the changing counters are in the back. Plenty of cash and currencies and for me best rates I can find. I will amend my post once I get to laptop and can do a name or picture search. SUPER T. MONEY CHANGER... MS>

For that amount of money I'd probably head to the Bangkok airport basement.

Just call them beforehand. They may also offer better rates to get your business.
